geezer
Jeff Beck - the FatherSRV - the SonBlues - the Holy Ghost Wait, so SRV actually IS Jeff Beck? :) I'd answer 'No' after all, but I don't exactly remember what they told me about Trinity at the time, but at this point I think this is a question you should ask in Vatican Edited July 27, 2017 by geezer
Lucas
Aside from being another respected guitarist, I'm not sure Jeff Beck had much of an influence on Stevie Ray's music or playing for that matter Freddie King, Lightnin' Hopkins, Lonnie Mack and Larry Davis / Fenton Robinson ?? yes ... Jeff Beck ?? not really . . Edited July 27, 2017 by Lucas
RUSHHEAD666
I could have seen SRV open for Beck. I had my fuckking ticket. I had to work at Safeway that night and I didn't have the balls to call in sick. Makes me sick to this very fuckking day. Ok I need to sign off and go to bed. Now I am bummed out. SRV FOREVER.

SRV FOREVER.I had a chance to see SRV at his next to last concert before he died, but I didn't. That crushed me. Soundgarden played Detroit (in my state) at Cornell's last concert. Yep missed that one too. I have some bad mojo for missing people that end up dying. Edited July 27, 2017 by HemiBeers

So I guess I love Beck's Couldn't Stand the Weather album. :)
Blue J
Both legends in their respective oeuvres. My preference by far, though, is Stevie Ray. I saw them on tour together, in 1989- they each played equal-length sets of 80-90 minutes. Incredible, phenomenal show. I bawled like a baby when SRV was killed, nine months later. I was 17.
