Hi Rush Forum Family and Foes!

I love you all! That's just how it goes!

Some adore me.

Some deplore me with hate.

While the servant waits, the master baits.

....the hook.

So speaking of hooks, you prog snobs who hate the 80's hard rock and hair and heavy metal scene must at least admit that Night Ranger was fuckking awesome back in the day.

Perhaps some of you who waste your time reading my useless rock knowledge blather have no clue and would rather lather up in a spa or in a hot tub.

Well your's truly, the poet, I mean the OP would rather watch the film "Hot Tub Time Machine!"

God, please take me back in time to when music was so AMAZING!!

The 60's

The 70's

The 80's

Three decades of bliss and amazing creativity.

Many of us on here who are older are lucky enough to have lived it.

I was born in 1968 so I missed a lot, but at the end of the day I have no regrets. Well maybe a few.

Can't do it all kids! I tried!

Praise the Lord or Ghost that I saw RUSH live music for 30 years.

I know that Night Ranger sold out fast with pop and MTV cheese fast. They played "The Secret Of My Success" last night. Always hated that song. Like the film with Michael J Fox.

However I think anyone who reads this should at least pick up or download "Dawn Patrol" and "Midnight Madness" onto their smartphones.

Or you could be like me and have multiple copies of the Japanese cd pressings! Jewel case and mini cardboard sleeve cds.

All useless now. But cds still make me happy.

Night Ranger makes me happy.

No retirement in sight for these guys and Brad Gillis is my friend.

I am blessed.

Goodnight Rush Rangers! HAHAHAHA!

"I NEED A WOMAN!"

Earl Night Ramer

LOL

You can still rock in America, Earl!!!

:haz:

OMG! Goose! I am dead serious! Night Ranger is one of my Top 20 Bands! They blew my mind last night!

They are my local jam like Y&T! I am so lucky! To know Dave Meniketti and Brad Gillis!

I think the Universe is real. What you put into life you get back. As long as you give and don't always take take take.

We all have "Freewill" but man, I live for music.

I hope all of you fall in love someday or simply "Love The One Your With!" LOL!

I've made my choice.

Rock N Roll Is My Woman!

Perhaps a new song I will write someday and offend some of you!! LOL!

Night Ranger RULES!

Love,

"At Night She Sleeps"

Jeff Watson is a helluva guitar player.

73!!

I was so bummed when Jeff left Night Ranger!

The boys in Night Ranger always found a solid replacement, but it will never be the same without Jeff.

I love Jeff Watson's solo albums! Do you have them 73?

Of course I have the Japanese cd pressings!

Somewhere!

I can't find them! LOL!

Cheers!

Based on the fact that Brad played live with ozzy after Randy passed I went and saw them in st Petersburg at the bay front center just before dawn patrol was even released if memory serves. Even though that venue was a 10,000+ seat arena they were there because it was connected to a carnival that was happening at the time. My guess is there were 400-500 people at this show. Mainly guitar freaks and ozzy fans. The ozzy fans were mostly disappointed while the guitar freaks were hyped to see brads whammy magic and jeffs multi finger tapping.

Fast forward a couple decades and I saw them again a few years ago at our local zoo playing at an evening event that was A Taste of... event. Joel Hoekstra was there in place of Jeff. Kelly struggled with sister Christian but Brad was as good as ever. Jack sounded great even though his banter was a bit dated. Nice pop/rock band.

Their first two albums are, indeed, excellent.

Jeff Watson was in a band with Rainbow's Joe Lynn Turner at one point.

Wait Rick. Please tell me more. I know you are correct. I should have these cds. Japanese pressings I think LOL

Do you know the album titles?

Yes

The first two Night Ranger records are EPIC!

I just listened to "7 Wishes" tonight. Hence my cheesy title of this thread but man I adore this record.

You could see where the band was headed.

Down Sentimental Fukk Off MTV Street.

It pissed me off but I do love their third record. Alas that was it.

However hypocritically I still buy every record by the band.

I have to support them. Local band. Local talent.

Brad is my buddy. I love him.

OMG AW!!!!

You are killing me!

I have a big business meeting in the morning.

But my love for rock and roll overpowers my responsibilities! LOL! Not really.

I will be fine.

But yes amigo!

I used to be in the "Family" many years ago when happily married.

Brad Gillis was part of that "Family."

Ever so often I would see Brad at a family gathering. A birthday party blah blah blah....

So it's true.

Brad told me right to my face that he really did lock himself in his bedroom for 25 hours?

Brad truly sat there on his bed and learned every riff and solo by Iommi and Randy.

Obviously he did one HELL of a job. "Speak Of The Devil."

I remember telling Brad that I had a dvd boot of that show. He wanted a copy but we lost touch.

I still see him all the time near a city I live near.

He is a wonderful man. He has a great daughter like my two.

I love Brad!!!!

Ok

Night!

Joel was great too in the band! Great guy! Great guitarist.

Night Ranger is so underrated.

If you guys and dolls don't remember they used to be called RANGER.

They won the Battle Of The Bands in like 1980.

When they signed with MCA they added the NIGHT to RANGER!

Guys come on!

You may hate them but they are on NR35

There is no doubt in my mind that Night Ranger will be playing way after R40.

I mean NR40! HAHAHAHA!

Neil could never sing shit.

Yet Kelly Keagy is LEGEND!

Kelly has a better voice than Phil Collins.

JMO!

LOVE YOU!

Earl, I believe that if I told you I played recorder in my grade 2 Christmas concert you'd say...

"OH MY GOD, GOOSE!!! I HAVE THE JAPANESE PRESSING!!! TWO COPIES!!!!"

It always struck me as interesting Brad Gillis got the Ozzy gig. Watson seemed like a more natural fit for a Randy replacement.

I wore out my vinyl copy of Dawn Patrol.

So funny Rick! I wore out my Dawn Patrol cassette!

So here is another true story. I know I could be a broken record.

Did you know the Ozzy and Sharon offered Dave Meniketti the gig before Brad?

Ozzy actually got on his hands and knees and begged Dave to join his band.

Dave politely declined stating that his band Y&T was on the rise.

Ironically it was Leonard Haze who founded Yesterday & Today............

Night Ranger is a great band.

The first 2 albums are stone cold classics. I played them to death when I was a kid.

In fact, every album up to Man In Motion is excellent. That one was their last great album.

Great live band, saw them at the Fillmore the last time I was in Norcal.

Joel Hoekstra was great in the band too.

They're still making good albums too.

Love Somewhere In California.

I didn't know that. Marc Storace did the exact same thing when AC/DC approached him after Bon died.

Damn autocorrect! :)

Long may you rant & rave on here. Your honesty is refreshing, at times infuriating, at times heartbreaking, but mostly hilarious. Gloriously irreverent & agenda-free.

You're a wizard, a true star. Never change.

Is that a tribute to Earl? :) If so, he will love it.
