Rod in Toronto

Damn these Le Studio fanatics sure are annoying aren't they? Yes Rod it's kind of far from Toronto. It's in Quebec which I'm sure is a few hundred miles from where you are.

You and your family got a lot more to worry about with moving to a new country before you need to worry about a road trip to a broken down, dilapidated old studio.

It's not exactly the ruins of Pompeii or Jim Morrison's grave. Not much to see here, move along......

Someone's warming up to speaking English:

Made me think of my daughter Krystal when she was learning to talk! Laughed my pantaloons off!

Did you go up to the observation deck of the tower?

Not yet...we actually went to the aquarium, and just walked past the tower. I have a feeling it's more fun to see from the outside than going up there, but we'll see.

You'll have to do it. The view is spectacular and the glass floor is kind of scary.

I haven't been up to the CN tower in a long time but that glass floor freaks me out. Awesome view though.

I was there in 1997 and I remember it like it was yesterday. That first step on the glass is really not for the faint-hearted.

Ok, I´m convinced...I´ll try to go up to the tower today.

Now that the house is almost 100% set, my daily routine is: take Stella to school, do some exercise, look for a job, pick her up at 02:30 and hang out with her until her mother comes home around 07pm. We´ve been around town a lot, and I just love the time we spend together - although she can be a bit cranky sometimes when she doesn´t want to put her coat on. Last week we went to Casa Loma, and she loved the place:

Nothing would be more appropriate for my first phot in Canada than this - the Parliament Building, where the cover of Moving Pictures was shot:

Thanks Lucas...I just noticed I haven't been updating this topic for the past weeks, but we continue to be happy about our choice to come over. I started to do some volunteer work, and Stella will join pre-school on a full time basis in July. Veronica is concerned with her course, but only got great grades so far, and I'm sure she'll manage it. From a business perspective, some may see it as a career suicide - we both had our jobs and some security. But at this stage I don't mind taking a step back, having a downgrade and finding a job with less responsibility. I think the volunteer work I'm doing will open doors very soon.

Rod, what you are doing is fantastic, and I applaud you ... Life is not about remaining static .. No matter where we go, we are needed and have roles, and you will find yours where you are

A few more pics from our day to day so far...Stella and I went to the CN Tower on Victoria Day, and to St. Lawrence Market a few days after that. And the three of us went to Kensington Market and Chinatown last Friday - I DEMANDED that Veronica took a break from her studies, which were stressing her way too much:

I'm quite happy today... found a volunteer spot at CAMSC - Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council. It's a perfect way to know more about the market and find my feet in the corporate world here in Canada. I'll start in July.
