I fear some Penske hijinx if the 2 and 22 are close to the lead at the end of the race.

 

That would be a hard sell... First off Keselowski would have to make it look unintentional, or else they could push NASCAR to invoke the 100% rule. Second, I don't think Keselowski is the type to give up a win to team orders.

You're probably right about the second.

 

With the first, given what happened with Bowyer at MWR a few years ago, that makes things tough, but if it's a long green run, and the #2 had a "vibration" and they were on the radio for a few laps discussing whether to come in, it would be hard to conclusively prove that it wasn't true, or a slight touch of the wall with fear over a tire going down would possibly work too, Or dropping a lug nut on a later green flag pit stop to top off and take two. These are unlikely circumstances to be sure but it doesn't seem impossible to me if the right circumstances availed themselves.

It's OT Time!

What I thought might be a situation that the Penske team might be able to manipulate as it turns out Furniture Row might be able to. Not easy, but possible (Truex could argue that "he took the air off me" as he takes out the other car in the front row, leaving Jones on the outside to get through for the win.

 

ETA: Or is Jones in the front row? That would make it easier, just have a bad restart. Though I doubt Truex would be fine with it and I don't think the 78 team is going to do a Gibbs team and a driver leaving for there any favors.

I guess it doesn't really matter as long as its the same for everyone. I wonder if it will help pit times?
