Pags
QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Aug 15 2006, 06:31 PM) Does the Little River Band count, or is that not shameful enough? I like 'em. Their "greatest hits" album was one of the first records I owned. "And it's a long way there; it's a long way to where I'm going..." Night Owls kicks ass!! Kudzu
Little River Band. Also, the song I'm listening to now: "Are We The Waiting". Green Day. One of two songs by Green Day that I can listen to without wondering where music is going, and what it's doing in that handbasket.
Hatchetaxe&saw
For me it's Clifford T Ward, followed by Duran Duran( I even went to see one of the re-union shows, and i loved it!!), and I suppose the one that will get me shot has to be, GIRLS ALOUD!! I don't know who writes their songs, but they are perfect slices of pop. And their videos are always, interesting.............. Now I'm just being a dirty old man. ZYRANNIX
My latest is Faithless, go figure. I bought their greatest hits package and there is some really good stuff on it. I believe the first track is called Insomnia and the lyrics are actually quite funny. The band seem sincere in what they do and to my mind sincerity counts alot. Drumnut
I can't say I'm guilty of one of my music secrets. My father, a professional vocalist, fell in love with The Four Freshmen when he was young and has strived all his life to sing in vocal groups with The Freshmen Sound. Growing up with music playing in the house all the time, The Freshmen (the original's, not the new group in the site above) were played quite often. Listening to my father sing, was usually with a group trying to imitate The Freshmen sound. The Beach Boys tried to imitate the Freshmen Sound. The Freshmen sound is basically close 4 part harmony with the lead singing the high part. The New Four Freshmen sound even better than the original group and the groups founder, Bob Flanigan(ret.) is the first one to admit it. The vocal group is the band consisting of guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, and trombone. There are some MP3's on their site and are well worth a listen. It's jazz with a mellow pop kind of feel to it, but remember if you do listen, it's only four guys singing all the vocals and playing all the instruments. The live show is special to watch & hear. http://www.4freshmen.com/images/smallsilo.gif
Inkanta
Hmmm......I have to admit to singing along with "Blue" when I'm driving along. But....our dance troupe did a great routine to it many years ago....so I was actually hooked through dance.
