RUSHHEAD666
I have been a closeted Duran x2 fan for thirty plus years. My concert tees were festooned with Eddie but secretly at home I felt The Reflex. I briefly had John Taylor's hairdo but blamed my hairdresser. http://youtu.be/oDnNF5cHCdo http://youtu.be/oOg5VxrRTi0 http://youtu.be/e3W6yf6c-FA http://youtu.be/m3a4OTh2Y8w Yes you can JR! I saw Duran Duran last year at The Greek in Berkeley. They were great! "A View To A Kill" is my favorite song. That song is very Power Stationish. An album I truly love. Great band.
Xanadu
I grew up liking Duran Duran a lot, along with hard rock and metal. There was just something about their music that appealed to my ears. I guess I found their musical arrangements really cool in so many songs and I found the melodies to be catchy. For many of us, music doesn't have to rock hard 100% of the time to be good.
invisible airwave
The lead from Korn listened to Duran Duran in his youth and Chino from Deftones is influenced by post punk and new wave bands like them, Cure, Depeche, Smiths, etc.. They even covered Chauffeur and Night Boat.
Turbine Freight
and BTW The Chauffer is about as heavy as a song gets The Chauffeur is classic no doubt about it.
RUSHHEAD666
No but you're allowed to like the spin-off band Power Station featuring both of the Taylors, because that band kicked a lot more ass than Duran Duran, plus they had Robert Palmer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHH_Cc6IifM Oh man! One of my favorite cuts. Pun intended. LOL!!! POWER STATION RULES!!!! Not a big fan of the second album though.

Rick N. Backer
I'll add that John Taylor was up there with Geddy and Steve Harris and Geezer Butler as my favorites to play along with. He was phenomenal.
