  1. Solid album. Last two were better......but this album has some fantastic high points and yes Watcher In The Sky is one of their best tunes period. I really hope they come to South Florida again. Loved the last tour big time. And I agree about the proggy jamming on the second half of Kaisarion!! Really nice.
  2. Our show is 6 days away in Tampa. Extremely excited.
  3. We will most likely try for Radio City Music Hall. I can’t by tickets this far in advance. So it will be a spur of the moment. My son has an extensive recruiting (college baseball) schedule in the Fall and he wants to see them badly (I have seen them 2 times 2007,2010 as well as SW 2 times). So I hope it works out. I can always get tickets a week before and yeah I may have to pay up.....I don’t care. It’s not about the money for me. I have really enjoyed both tunes so far. We ordered the deluxe set both on CD/Blueray and Vinyl. I really never thought we would ever see them reunite. Bittersweet Colin is not part of this nor John Wesley on the road.
  4. Delicious......Rush at the absolute peak of their powers.....sonically it never was any better than this tour. Just perfection.
  5. They're doing Bridges In The Sky, but that's the only one from earlier Mangini era. I'm guessing the setlist was partly arrived at by what JLB is capable of singing now. Some may have been tried and then shot down for being out of his range. Yes! My Bad....Bridges In The Sky (which is a fantastic song....one of my top 3 from the album). Agree on the vocal limitations....they are starting to rear their ugly little head with DT. Don't forget that LeBrie is almost 60. There's probably going to be a lot of songs they can no longer do if they continue on for a while longer. I do like all the songs they're playing but on paper it just doesn't look like it would flow too well. I think I will make a playlist and hear for myself how it goes. It's a setlist of (apart from 6:00 and Invisible Monster) epics/mini-epics. I love the concept honestly, easy to get lost in all of it if you like all the songs. I think the concept would be amazing if they are doing “An Evening With” format. Having two set's allows the band to stretch out more and include several more hard hitting compact songs (in the DT world that is under 7 minutes LOL). But....I know I am going to enjoy the show......always do. The may be too old to pull off a 3 hour show at this point unless they can find a set they can handle. Rush spoiled the shit outta me.

  9. I have the setlist set up as a playlist and listened to it.......it will still be a great show....but it is an odd setlist. One thing is.....all the long songs. I am just a little taken back they decided to do that vs having a more diverse setlist covering a lot more of the Mangini Era. So many great tunes from ADTOE and DT. I totally get not playing anything from DoT as they more than covered that album last tour. Other than the new album.....nothing from any of the previous Mangini era albums (The Astonishing can be burned for all I care). That is odd. Anyway.....I am still stoked for the show (even Ministry of Souls lol).....they still kill it every time I have seen them. Front row right Orchestra in Tampa!!!!! Let’s Go!!!!!
  10. Madonna's great and all, but she's just not as cool as Pat Benatar. It might be because Madonna is perceived to be a trailblazer regarding image and attitude. She benefited from and took advantage of MTV and music videos and became a cultural icon. Pat Benatar belted out a couple of good songs for several years and dropped out of the public's eye when Madonna flooded movies, music, TV, concerts, magazines... Pat still has her voice. Mostly. Saw her acoustic show with her hubby. She can still belt them out. Is she RRHOF worthy? I dunno. I wouldn't call her overly influential. But that voice she had in 1981. My god. Promises In The Dark........insane.
  11. Ministry of Souls is a complete throw away track for me.....and I feel Labrie fought for this one LMFAO. I truly hope they rotate some tunes from the new album. How in the world can you not play Answering The Call? How? They gotta have that as a regular tune in that setlist.....blows my mind. Your best song on the album.....not played. And what about Transcending Time? My two favorite songs from the new album that they are touring in support of.......not being played. Mind blowing. Also.....6:00 is a good tune....there are so many better tunes from Awake....come on. Love they are playing Count of Tuscany. Love they brought back Endless Sacrifice....fantastic tunes. This may be the weakest setlist I have ever seen from them (I did not even bother with The Astonishing tour as that album was hot garbage).
  12. Can they please just rename the damn place the: Music Hall Of Fame. It’s insulting to Rock Music fans. Many non rock artists are great talents.....so make the Hall of Fame what it has become.....a Music Hall of Fame. Make sense?
  13. Not my cup of tea at all. If this was the lead single.....hard pass.
  14. Their original material is just as good! :) 3 outstanding albums of original material.
  15. The poll is flawed. I like some songs on the original and some on the remix. I made a custom CD of the album with the mixes for the songs I enjoy. The album itself is very passionate despite being a bit disjointed and well below the sonic standards the band had prior to this album. They would recapture the great sonic quality again on Snakes....and then kinda lose it on their brilliant swan song with CA. Back to VT. A polarizing record from the band. The original being released in that state was incredibly disappointing knowing the high standard Rush had set with so many of their albums. But the fact the album was even made was a miracle in of itself and “One Little Victory" OLV - Remix CU - OG Ghost RIder - OG Peacable Kingdom - Remix Stars Look Down - Remix How it Is - Remix Vaportrail - OG Secret Touch - OG Earthshine - Remix Nocturne - OG Freeze - Remix Sweet Miracle - OG Out of The Cradle - Does not even matter as I cannot stomach this song...and not on my custom CD LOL.
  16. She is so damn awesome.....I have been watching all the videos and she fit’s like a glove. I really hope this becomes permanent for the band. I can only imagine the new music with her on the vox.......it will sizzle.
  17. She slayed it.......I hope she becomes a permanent member. Their next album will be.....HEAVY.
  18. Muse is back after a one album hiatus. Hell yeah.
  19. Ahhh yes Coldplay. I absolutely loved heir first three albums. Starting with Vida that was it for me. Moved on. But I had a chance to see them live and meet them after the show at the grand opening of the University of Miami’s basketball arena back on the Rush of Blood To The Head tour. They were so young, and had no idea how big they would eventually become. The show was great. We had fantastic seats. I remember I had 10 tickets (I knew the promotor of the show) in Row 7......I could not even give them away. No one really knew who Coldplay was back then in 2002. They went from writing arena anthems to pop dribble......and hey they became monster pop stars.....but man those first 3 albums were special. I discovered them on the now long defunct HBO show Reverb. Live performances of their stuff from Parachutes were featured. When I saw them perform Spies live on Reverb I was hooked. To this day one of my all time favorite tunes from them. Once they got away from writing good alternative rock songs I was done. The ride was over for me. Yes they have written several catchy and clever pop songs since.....just not my cup of tea. Viva La Vida was an album that was very hit and miss for me and I felt the change of direction on that album and knew.....it's over. I could not even name a song since that album to be honest.
  20. I have to admit when it comes to covid vs 30th Anniversary of Use Your Illusion, I'm pulling for covid. Seriously. Ain’t that the truth. talk about a band.....who has lived off one great album their entire career....I find it astounding to be frank. The same can be said of a few bands (Nirvana immediately comes to mind who had IMO a vastly overrated debut and subpar follow up and they have been legendary ever since). There are some good songs on Use Your Illusion I and II. I can count them on my 5 fingers....a bloated double album full of filler. I bought both discs at the time of their release and never once could listen to either all the way through in one listen. There are some decent tracks but nothing so great that I couldn't even bother making a 1 disc compilation of the best tracks. I liked Civil War Probably my favorite GNR song ever ironically.
  21. 1. Dream Theater - A View From The Top of The World 2. Iron Maiden - Senjitsu 3. YYNOT - Light and Shade 4. Transatlantic - The Absolute Universe Forevermore Extended Version 5. Styx - Crash of the Crown 6. Liquid Tension Experiment 3 7. John Petrucci - Terminal Velocity That is pretty much it for me.
  22. I can’t stand Primus.....sorry.....their music simply does not click for me at all (and don’t get me started on the ridiculousness of the vocals...blech just not my thing). So when they opened for them on the RTB tour I made sure to show up in the middle of their set and stayed on the concourse with my bandmates till they were done playing whatever they were playing which to my ears was pure crap. Hot take on Primus complete.
  23. Overrated - The Fountain Of Lamneth - In The Valley and No One At The Bridge are excellent......then? A bloated snore fest for me. I have given this side long epic dozens of chances over my 40 year history listening to Rush and other the the two parts I mentioned....the rest is simply whatever yet receives so much praise from Rush fans.....meh. Underrated - Well we can fill up this category with so many songs....so let’s go with something from Hold Your Fire which was probably the most polarizing album in these parts. Turn The Page - A brilliant song laden with so much Rush chop goodness. More impressive is the way the band pulled it off live and I actually liked the Show of Hands version even more. Geddy really stretches himself on this song both bass and keyboards.....and vocally. It is a wonder to see live. It was buried as track 8 of 10 on the album.....I would have brought this song up in the order of that record easily, while many think the album should have ended right there. I disagree as High Water is also a hidden gem in the catalog.
