  1. Futile, but I do love Madrigal.
  2. Oh Dear! So sorry to hear that you had to go thru all that, but happy to hear that all ended well! Sad your three day weekend was shot, but it could have been worse if it had happened in Vegas away from home and familiar surroundings. I'm hoping that you are continuing on your recovery and and will continue to full recovery. I don't know anything about gall stones except how painful it can be.. Hope all is well!!
  3. QUOTE (coolphantom190 @ Jul 18 2011, 05:40 PM) Jimmy Page! Ditto!
  4. Best of the Worst? So these are the worst from the list? And Cinderella Man is on it? The Worst list? Must be a mistake.. I just don't get it. I vote Cinderella Man.

    Really?

Isn't this the same one from before? Amazon seems to be recycling their notices, I got two last week letting me know that St. Anger was "now available"
  6. QUOTE (Strangiato @ Jul 9 2011, 05:05 PM) In NYC during the Freewill high parts he lifted his arm in the air and did some weird shit and let me tell you it sounded spot on. If anyone would care to explain why he was moving his arm a certain way it would help out a lot. I didn't notice this on the first leg of the TM tour, but did on the second leg. He appears to employ random arm movements when he's got an extremely difficult note to hit.. he does it in other places besides Freewill, but on other songs not as consistently as Freewill. Hey, whatever works. I thought his vocals were better on the second leg than the first. I saw Hershey, Cleveland and Vegas on the second leg so I saw shows towards the beginning and towards the end too. On a side note, I keep hoping this thread would just die, now I've given it more life.
  7. Natural Science Might as well close your eyes and click rather than try and decide.
  8. I don't know much about ABBA, but Rumors is a whole bunch of greatness.

    Score!

Nice find! I do my CD shopping almost exclusively at used stores.. it's always a treasure hunt and you never know what you might find.
  10. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Jul 7 2011, 09:25 PM) QUOTE (MCM @ Jul 7 2011, 06:49 PM) I have to pick the first one, it's just pure magic, every second of it.. although the lyrics for Don't Look Back are fantastic. I remember waiting in line at at National Record Mart in Erie for Third Stage back in the day. I saw Boston once many years ago, it was so long ago I don't really remember much about it, that makes me sad. I saw them a few years ago with Michael Sweet and "that other guy", it wasn't Delp's voice but it was a very good show. Michael Sweet is a true showman. That aside, that guitar sound of Scholz has not changed one bit over the years. Despite all the new players and the lack of Brad Delp, that guitar sound was exactly the same, and as good as it was in 1976. For what it's worth, Third State was worth waiting in line for. I own the other two, I've listened to one of them once or twice and the last one I haven't even opened yet even tho I've had it for years. LOL MCM! You have a sealed copy of "Corporate America!" You might as well just keep it sealed. I've done that too man. Hell I buy doubles of Japanese pressings just so I can open one and keep one sealed. That will be my reason then, it's so good I'm keeping it unopened cause someday I'll sell it on ebay for thousands of dollars to finance a Rush road trip...

  13. QUOTE (USB Connector @ Jul 7 2011, 03:50 PM) The only thing I regret missing is the Metallica/GnR tour. There was no opening there, just two headliners. I saw a Metallica/GnR tour with Faith No More as an opener, 92 I think. Did they do two tours together? At least I think I saw Faith No More with them? Some things during that time period are a little dim, I know the show was at Three Rivers Stadium and also that it rained all during Faith No More and Metallica.. at least I think that's what I remember.
  14. Always subject to change, but today I pick Cinderella Man.
  15. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Jul 6 2011, 09:47 PM) QUOTE (MCM @ Jul 6 2011, 09:12 PM) QUOTE (Oracle @ Jul 6 2011, 08:07 PM) I will continue to hold that they will play '2112' in its entirety one last time before calling it quits. I'd love to see them in smaller venues, but not as much money in that and the smaller venues wont allow the screens, lights, etc that they (and we) have become accustomed to having in one of their shows. I'm sure that the three of them on the stage without all the fuss would be fine for a lot of us, me included, but I just don't think they would want to go out like that. The thing is they played a lot of 6,000 seat type venues on this go around and were still able to sell them out AND include the lights, pyros, videos, etc we're all accustomed too. Point being, I think they would do quite well playing a tour exclusively these kinds of venues AND be able to keep the quality level show they always have Correct, some of the venues are smaller than I thought. Are they actually smaller or is that just how the set up works out with the stage and all the equipment. I thought that most of the shows this time around were 10k. Out of the numbers that have been released so far 4 of the shows were under 7000. I did not realize that Gibson in LA was that small, less than 6k. Is it really that small or were the ticket numbers limited because of the stage set up?
  16. QUOTE (GeddyLeeRoth @ Jul 6 2011, 07:38 AM) Top 3 Choices: 1. Van Halen 2. Iron Maiden 3. Black Sabbath Which Sabbath? Lots of lineups to pick from. I doubt we'll ever see an Ozzy/Sabbath, and RJD Sabbath is out. Since it's a hypothetical question I'd take RJD Sabbath over any of the others in the middle between Sabbath and Heaven & Hell. An Ozzy/Sabbath would be sweet to see though. Tough call, but I think I'd pick a "Classic Era" Pink Floyd, they would play all of Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here.
  17. QUOTE (Oracle @ Jul 6 2011, 08:07 PM) I will continue to hold that they will play '2112' in its entirety one last time before calling it quits. I'm going to join you in your optimism. But I think that the OP has a lot of it right. I agree that this will probably be the last album. They will tour on it and will do it in two legs much like they did for TM. I don't think they will say it's the end, but I think it will be the end of touring for them. I think they will finish the tour and just not do it again. I think they will draw from later in their catalog due to Ged's voice. It's the only instrument they have in their arsenal that they can't control no matter how much he protects and takes car of it. All my opinions of course. for what they are worth..
  18. QUOTE (01GT Eibach @ Jul 5 2011, 07:48 PM) Living in Pittsburgh, PA, I saw Rush twice on this tour (Pitt & Cleveland). But I ended up getting a work promotion that moved me to Scottsdale, AZ in May. Best of all, this allowed me to catch Rush for a THIRD time by catching the Phoenix show. Here is my overview ... 1) Ridiculously hot -- Does this venue typically have AC issues?? And $7 for a soda for the final temperate insult. 2) Geddy clearly said that Clockwork Angels "hoped to be out by the end of the year". 3) Geddy's voice was the most strained in the Phoenix gig compared to Pittsburgh and Cleveland shows I saw earlier. The Cleveland show was (easily) the best of the three shows, with Geddy's voice the tightest and overall higher energy performance by the band. No surprise there as it was the DVD filming. 4) Phoenix was also the most expensive. Because I got tickets so late I had to use a ticket service. I paid $240 (for a pair) including all fees, but tickets were excellent -- lower bowl right next to Geddy. Last I checked, that is why I go to work ... to earn money to buy Rush tickets. 5) Overall ... they were awesome. It was my boys. I also live in Pittsburgh and saw both of those shows, the Cleveland one was far superior to the Pittsburgh show from 2010. I also saw the Hershey show which was most excellent. I didn't see the Phoenix show, but did see the Vegas show, it seems as if they really did get better as the tour went on. They just don't seem to tire out.
  19. As much as I love it I went with Red Barchetta...
  20. QUOTE (Cygnalschick @ Jul 2 2011, 05:31 PM) Thanks for the responses ya'll. I'm actually on the track to getting serious help for this. Spent last night in the hospital and now have medical clearance to enter rehab I'll be thinking good thoughts for you, you deserve only the best in your future.
  21. QUOTE (Phantom @ Jul 4 2011, 06:56 PM) love the solo... but... Is it just me, or does anyone else notice that on the electronic kit, I don't hear any sound when Neil hits his cymbals... Thought I noticed the same thing in Cleveland... Hey Phantom! How are you? Hope all is well.
  22. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Jul 4 2011, 04:56 AM) QUOTE (HowItIs @ Jul 3 2011, 08:06 PM) OMG!! HAIR!!! I got some good shots too, but not THAT close. Good thing for cameras with awesome zoom!! I'll start sorting and watermarking soon. That's my fave of the bunch too. Thanks for sharing the pics!
  23. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Jul 2 2011, 07:04 PM) QUOTE (Czarcasm @ Jul 2 2011, 12:50 PM) Thanks for all the advice, guys! I ended up getting Hemispheres and I gotta say, I'm really loving it, even after only 3 listens. Hemispheres is probably their best side-long epic I've heard thus far, The Trees is a great radio friendly tune, La Villa may just be my favourite song by them now, and even Circumstances has grown on me considerably after listening to the keyboard section. I'm sure it's an album that I'll grow to like more and more with each listen. Thanks again. Next Stop: SIGNALS! That's awesome that you like Hemispheres. However, I would go with A Farewell to Kings if you love Hemi. Good advice, you must next get A Farewell to Kings! Glad that you're liking Hemispheres, it is quite a bit of ear candy. Don't forget to go back and revisit CoS, it will hit you someday and you'll love it.
  24. I'll be thrilled if we see the new album by year end. As previously stated they're going to want a break and some time with their families. Then once they get in the studio it will take them twice the time they are currently estimating for themselves. They really don't have a set schedule and they can do as they please with their timetable. It would be nice for them to hit the studio right away after all these months of being on the road getting their playing into top notch form. The down side of that is that they probably are tired and a little burned out and that could reflect in the album. I do hope that the DVD is out by Christmas, it will tide us over till the album.
