  1. So is this a preview of what Neil's kit will look like on the tour?
  2. QUOTE (softfilter @ Jun 21 2012, 03:43 AM) Richfield Coliseum Feb,18th or 19th? 1980. I was there! Is that when FM opened for them?
  3. Losing It would be awesome to hear. I really hope they pull that song out!
  4. QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 19 2012, 05:01 PM) QUOTE (johndyar @ Jun 18 2012, 01:07 PM) December, 1974 at the Cleveland Agora was the first time. Next was a year later in 1975 (November I think) at the Akron Civic Theater opening for Ted Nugent. They played The Necromancer! As Bubbles would say, "Oh my f@#$!" That's awesome! I tried to make the Summer 1974 show at the Cleveland Agora that ended up being recorded and played on WMMS (radio station) and lately released on CD as "ABC 1974" but couldn't get a ride. I remember that the 1975 Akron show ticket price was $5.65 (I had to borrow the money from my Mom who was in the hospital at the time!)
  5. Best sounding: Hold Your Fire Last decent: Counterparts

  7. I'm old school. Sansui G9000 receiver (165 w/chan, 70 pounds!!), a pair of Infinity Column II speakers, both circa 1979, and a Sony CD player. Never turned it up past 4. Bass you feel in your chest.
  8. In my opinion, Second Nature is the best song on an album full of GREAT songs.

    Everyday Glory

QUOTE (RUDT @ May 28 2012, 04:02 PM) I just realize, or maybe i forgot over the years, how the song "Everyday Glory" got almost the same guitar parts as those of Edge of U2. It would be a excellent song for U2, a good or average one for Rush. Check the complete song except the refrain, and you'll see. I love Everyday Glory. In my top 5 favorite Rush songs. Definitely better than average. I have never imagined it as a U2 song. Personally, I don't think U2 could do the song justice.
  10. QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ May 19 2012, 10:51 AM) QUOTE (Snaked @ May 17 2012, 12:57 PM) QUOTE (s_b_g @ May 17 2012, 03:45 PM) i really think we need to knock the idea on the head that the cost of the ticket has to do with the cost of the "lighting rig" i have been to spectacular shows in the SECC at waaay below these ticket prices. they charge this money in the hope people will pay it - fair enough i have no argument with that but please stop trying to justify these prices as something to do with the light show!! utter bollox It's not bollox at all. Higher production value = justification for charging a higher ticket price. Exactly. Just ask Roger Waters. Agreed. "Close" seats for Rodger Waters in Atlanta are $230.00 each and that's before all the added fees.
  11. QUOTE (losingit2k @ May 16 2012, 12:11 AM) Do you think that Roadrunner records is at least partially responsible for all this angst and animosity? Don't you think we are all just a bit on edge cause we all know that their is a finished product out there and they are holding its release just a make a few more bucks. Of course this has no refection or anything to do with . I may be naive but I personally think its out of their hands. I'm placing the blame strictly on the executives of Roadrunner Records. I do believe things would be much more civil around here if we had Clockwork Angels in our hands already. Any thoughts? I want to hear the new album as much as the next guy, but it will come out when it comes out. I have to many other things to worry about to develop "angst and animosity" towards Roadrunner for not releasing it earlier. It's been 5 years since S&A, another month or two is no big deal.
  12. Here is my list (in no particular order) Van Halen Collective Soul Def Leppard Queen The Cars Aerosmith Led Zeppelin Foreigner Pink Floyd Journey
  13. Hold Your Fire, Grace Under Pressure, and Power Windows. I didn't like any of them at first. Now they are my 3 favorites.
  14. On the T4E tour I drove from N. GA (Chattanooga area) to Dayton, OH, then later in the tour to Atlanta, then yet later in the tour to Cincinnati, OH, then the next night in Nashville. A lot of miles that tour.
  15. April 3rd, 2011 in Nashville. I am more than ready for another tour!
  16. I believe there will be a second leg. I hope Nashville is in the schedule then.

    5 years later

I still really like a most of S&A. Many of those songs are in regular rotation in my Rush playlists.
  18. I remember hearing "The Pass" on the Presto tour and liking it a lot more. Loved it since! Kind of happened with "Faithless" on the TM tour also.
  19. QUOTE (friendlyfloridian @ May 1 2012, 03:50 PM) IF you are terminally ill then you can def meet them. There was a girl on here a while back and she posted many pictures of her with the band prior to a show. She wasn't (and isn't) terminally ill. She suffered from childhood cancer and received a wish from the Make-A-Wish fondation. Her wish was to meet Rush. She has been cancer free for almost 5 years and will be celebrating her 21st birthday at the upcoming Atlanta show on Nov 1st.
  20. The Atlanta show is the day before my daughter Sam's 21st birthday and "Hope" would be great to hear because it has significant meaning to us. "Grand Designs" or "Everyday Glory" would also be great. If they played "Everyday Glory" you might see a grown man cry!!
