Any fans of these two post metal bands? They are very similar bands. Both hail from Chicago. Both make nothing but instrumentals. And the both f***ing rock!

Anything from Pelican or Russian Circles

A few years ago, I was in my attic, running speaker wires, and I stepped on the end of a board, and it came up on me. Well, my feet landed between the joist, and on the drywall. Next thing I know, the drywall gives way, and the ceiling in the family room comes raining down. My right leg lands on the joist. Fortunately, nothing broken (except my ceiling), but the back of my thigh turned an interesting purple color. I have a friend who is an amazing carpenter, and you can’t even see where I came through. :) glad you’re on the mend Jack.

I was talking with a guy at work last week about the Kia Stinger (he said he'd never heard of it) and that the base engine is 300 hp with an available twin turbo V-6 rated at 368 hp. We talked about it a little and at the end of the conversation he said, "it's still a Kia." I guess bias is hard to overcome in any realm. He drives a WRX and I'd take either model of the Stinger over that for a few reasons. I work with a guy who has the top of the line Stinger. Nice car. Won’t keep up with my Vette, but it’s a very nice car for the money.

So many great movies from Pixar. Incredibles, Nemo, Up, Monsters, and Ratatouille are the top of the heap.

Cars was awesome. Cars 2 had its moments. The scene where Mader eats the wasabi and says, “don’t eat the pistachio ice cream...it has turned.” was pretty damn funny.

The Tragically Hip. Also like Honeymoon Suite, BTO, Triumph, Econline Crush, Loverboy, Pursuit of Happiness. -

One of my all time favorite songs is “I’m an Adult Now”, by The Pursuit of Happiness. The lyrics are spot on and humorous. -

Two individually written songs combined together. Randy Bachman wrote "No Sugar Tonight" and Burton Cummings wrote "New Mother Nature". The Kings did the same thing with "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' To Glide". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boJvi-4OcKg I love the Kings! It pisses me off when that comes up on shuffle and it doesn’t play both songs together. -
Silversun Pickups and Budgie. Claudio from Coheed and Cambria could be mistaken for a chick. Mickey Thomas from Jefferson Starship sounds like a chick. Hell, he sounds more like a chick than Grace Slick! :LMAO:

True story. I got married on my 33rd birthday, so it’s also my wedding anniversary today. Too bad I didn’t wait three more days to join up here.

Thanks everyone! I had no idea when I joined 14 years ago what a profound effect this place would have on my life. I’ve met some great friends here. Had the privilege of hanging out with a few of you. This is a special place. :)

I did. I drove it out to Galena Illinois over the weekend!

Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we brought our little peanut home. :D

Happy birthday, amigo!

Mine is in the garage, under a cover, with a battery tender. I can’t wait for late March.

Happy birthday to one of my favorite people on the planet!

:goodone:I almost cried I laughed so hard at the first movie. When he and his producer were in the conference room, having a naked brawl. Feeding Bob Barr cheese made with his wife’s breast milk. The blue bag he brought down to the dinner party? :LMAO: Even some of the totally non-crude bits I found amusing. Example: the part when he went to get some tips on telling jokes. “This suit is black pause NOT.” Or when they pulled into the park with the ice cream truck, and the kids ran up, and were greeted by the bear.

POLL: Best Rush Song From Signals To Test For Echo (shorter, popular songs)

I voted for Subdivisions, but that’s because Digital Man was absent. The bass line is intoxicating!
