  1. I will always have fond memories of sitting out on my deck with the sun going down during Spring and Summer 2015 and wondering where Rush was playing that particular night. Being able to watch many of the shows through periscope as if I was there and following the comments on this forum were the icing on the cake. It was wonderful to see and hear everyone so excited night after night.
  2. I see CoS as Rush's attempt at getting their ducks in a row. I like it and still listen to it from time to time, but it's misguided.
  3. I remember at the time thinking that if they were touring just for the sake of touring for Moving Pictures, that they might actually do the same type of tour for other albums from their past. I also thought that it was a sign that they were changing gears to being a more touring oriented band and less of a "tour only for a new album" band. Needless to say, I was wrong. I saw the Time Machine show in New Jersey and actually left early to beat the "Rush" out of the parking lot. My excuse...I had my 10 year old son with me and didn't realize how long the drive was from Avalon, NJ (where we were vacationing at the time) to Camden. I didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel.
  4. I think it could work, but only if Mark Wahlberg played Judah. Of course I'm joking.
  5. Does this make me a bad parent? I used to do zombie apocalypse scenarios with my kids when they were little using nerf guns.
  6. My youngest son just got his driver's permit, so my wife wanted to take him out on the road. I decided to tag along in the backseat and kept my mouth shut the whole time. After we were finished, I said to my son "So how does it feel to be learning from Salieri when Amadeus was sitting in the back seat?" Does that make me a bad parent?
  7. As with all Dream Theatre works, "Scenes from a Memory" simply has too many notes. It's good, but way too busy. 2112 is much much better.
  8. I thank Keith for all the brilliant music he gave us...he will be missed.
  9. Just a few I could think of that I've heard fans complain about over the years. Mike Oldfield - Amarok (it rivals Beethoven's 9th imho) Yes - Keys to Ascension 2 (the last time they sounded like classic Yes in the studio) Boston - Don't Look Back Blue Oyster Cult - Club Ninja Fish - Sunsets on Empire Focus - Hamburger Concerto
  10. I'm sure by now Alex and Geddy dread any interviewer saying "Let's start from the beginning." That horse has been dead for at least 20 years.
  11. Freewill The Spirit of Radio Limelight YYZ Xanadu Bytor La Villa Fly By Night 2112 - Overture Camera Eye
  12. We live relatively close proximity-wise, so I'm thinking that many of my highlights are the same as those you've listed (JFK, ABWH, Yes etc.). Here are some more for me. Iron Maiden playing Rime of the Ancient Mariner on the Powerslave tour at the Spectrum Getting to see Clapton with Roger Waters in 84 at the Spectrum My first concert - Phil Collins at Stabler Arena in 83 10th row for Van Halen on the 1984 tour (you guessed it...at the Spectrum) 4th row for the Scorpions in '85 I believe. My first Rush show ever on the Presto tour Taking two of my kids (ages 16 and 21) to the R40 show in Philly. This one tops them all.

    Dogs

Oh cripes! Was the rabbit okay? :) It didn't look too good, but I think it just had the wind knocked out of it.

    Dogs

Funny story...my dog (a golden) has a stuffed rabbit toy that we don't allow her to take outside when it's raining for obvious reasons. Several nights ago on rainy evening, my wife let's the dog out and wants me to let her inside before I go to bed. About 1/2 hour later, I go to let the dog in and see her prancing around the yard with this rabbit toy. Wondering why my wife let the dog take it outside in the rain, I let the dog inside and pick up the toy only to find that it's the real thing.
  15. I vote for Queen, the best vocal rock band of all time.
  16. 99,999999% of Encomium is worth a mention in this thread! Stone Temple Pilots version of "Dancing Days" makes that album worth the price of admission. There are a few real clunkers on that tribute though.
  17. The worst cover song that includes are member of the original band. The "Down by the Seaside" cover by Robert Plant and Tori Amos on the Led Zeppelin Encomium tribute. To me, it's not a cover song if you just re-use the lyrics. There needs to be some essence of the original song retained in the cover version.
  18. Hmm one of their bar gigs in Canada before they started touring the states? "A Clockworking Man Orange" Milk and beer served there. Or vellocet, synthemesc, or drencrumb Hahaha! I am kroovy brother. You are just groovy. Spare me some cutter me brother. I'm divorced and loving it. Dude, I majored in English, I had to read so much I fukking hated it. But I found time to read the Burgess classic on my own spare time. I loved reading it. It was a challenge. I had to keep flipping to the back of the book the glossary to read what each word meant. I think it was a merge of Russian, English and Anthony's own creation. I loved the book. It was so fun. Everyone on here should read "A Clockwork Orange." Of course he movie is just as good. JMO Bonus stuff in the book!!! Well, the movie didn't include the 21st chapter that Burgess originally wrote. Don't know what to think about that since I loved both. I just happened to see the flick before reading the book. I remember reading somewhere that the omission of the 21st chapter would appeal more to American readers/audiences because of the darker ending. And apparently, (in publishers' and filmmakers' minds at the time) we yanks prefer darker endings. Burgess didn't like the idea of that chapter being omitted. I fear the day when A Clockwork Orange is filmed again...I especially have nightmares of it being redone by Tim Burton. I can see it now...A Clockwork Orange 2018 directed by Tim Burton and starring Mark Wahlberg as Alex...Vin Diesel, The Rock and Bradley Cooper as the droogs. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman would need to be worked in somewhere also. It would definitely be "fart in church" material.
  19. Finding My Way [5] What You're Doing [14] -2 Before and After [16] +1 Working Man [21] I'm glad that "Before and After" is doing well...I got the impression that it wasn't that well liked of a song.
  20. I can't imagine that he'll never sit down at a drum kit again (barring physical issues that would keep him from doing so). I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't done anything drumming related since the tour finished, but if he loves the instrument as much as it appears he does, he'll drum again at least for his own personal enjoyment. Heck, maybe he'll even go into his daughter's elementary school for "career day" and play a thing or two.
  21. Finding My Way [13] Here Again [7] What You're Doing [14] In The Mood [4] Before and After [14] Working Man [15]
  22. I had just come home from taking an exam at college and my grandmother was crying. She told me that something had happened to the shuttle and I watched the coverage for the rest of the day.
  23. I thought that was the RtB kid? No...I think that kid ended up the bassist in Springsteen's band.
  24. I thought I heard that the Power Windows guy died when eating pop rocks while drinking a Coke.
