  1. I think they changed the rotation at the last minute because of the AC show. Originally, we were supposed to get Set B on the rotation that started the tour off. However, both the Newark and Philadelphia got the same B setlist. I think somehow, the guys realized it and decided to change it... However, I could be completely off and they just decided to change it for one night or switch sets A and C around. I really don't know, but I do agree that they should stick to the same rotation...
  2. Since there are 9 shows on the tour, I think the guys are going to keep the A, A1, and B rotation. It splits it up nicely and evenly. Unfortunately, this means I'll be seeing set B for the second time in AC. I don't think they thought that one out too well. Both the Philly show and the Newark show had set B. It'll be great nonetheless, but I would still like to see 7CoG and Manhattan Project instead of Wish Them Well. So if my pattern is correct, this is how the setlists will rotate from now on... 01-May Nashville, TN A (Limelight/Bravado/7CoG/Manhattan Project) 03-May Raleigh, NC A1 (The Body Electric/Bravado/7CoG/Manhattan Project) 05-May Virginia Beach, VA B (Middletown Dreams/The Pass/Wish Them Well/Dreamline) 07-May Baltimore, MD A (Limelight/Bravado/7CoG/Manhattan Project) 09-May Uncasville, CT A1 (The Body Electric/Bravado/7CoG/Manhattan Project) 11-May Atlantic City, NJ B (Middletown Dreams/The Pass/Wish Them Well/Dreamline)
  3. Absolutely!!!! The excitement is killing me and the wait is too!!! I have AP exams on the monday after the concert and my teacher was like "Over that weekend you need to study as hard as possible." But to me it sounded like "Blah, Blah, Blah." So, I'm probably going to just have the time of my life and not worry about them. It is what it is (and whatever). :7up: I'm so stoked though, its only my 2nd time seeing the guys live!
  4. I wonder if they're trying to stick to a basic setlist, and maybe exchange song 5 out every since night. I think since Limelight and TBE were played, we might see Middletown Dreams make an appearance during the next show. Or, they could be on a rotation that goes something like A,A1,B,B1. It could be anything at this point....
  5. What if the guys made a setlist L and H? Then the rotation could be B-L-A-H-B-L-A-H-B-L-A-H ;)
  6. Far Cry: One day I feel I'm on top of the world And the next it's falling in on me I can get back on Secret Touch: You can never break the chain There is never love without pain
  7. What if RUSH pulled a fast one all of us and shifted the time period of focus for the next leg? Instead of 80's focus, it turns into the 70's focus!! Crazy idea I know, but it would definitely be a large shake up and keep things fresh. I doubt they'll do it....
  8. I think it's time for them to play "The Enemy WIthin" once again... They could switch it out for The Body Electric so it becomes The Enemy Within/Middletown Dreams. I love that song and wish they would play at least once more...
  9. I have a feeling they either might fuse the two together and have one set with a random combination that works the best, or they might just replace the switches with new songs for switching. I really hope they bring BU2B back though. I didn't see the TMT and am dying to see that one live. I think the new set may look a little like this: Subdivisions Big Money Force Ten Grand Designs Middletown Dreams/The Enemy Within Territories The Analog Kid Roll The Bones/New World Man Where's My Thing? Far Cry CLOCKWORK ANGELS IN ENTIRETY( minus BU2B2(maybe)) Manhattan Project/ Between The Wheels (if they played it, I would go nuts) The Percussor Red Sector A YYZ TSOR ENCORE: Tom Sawyer Limelight 2112 I think for the encore, I wouldn't mind if they rotated them in and out and just played 2 songs per night during that time...
  10. How bad is 105 realistically? I have Row 15, at the end of the section (13&14)... I'm wondering whether I've made a mistake :/
  11. I was so pleasantly surprised to wake up this morning on my birthday and see that they released new dates!!! For the weekend of May 11th, my schedule just got filled ;). Best birthday ever!!!
  12. Apparently, we'll be getting them within the next two weeks. On twitter, a reliable source provided this tidbit: Hopefully this is true, it's all just a matter of time I guess...
  13. Now this may just be a red herring and pointless, but I've read the novel, seen the live show, and come across interesting similarities with 2112. I don't know whether this was on purpose or not, but on the tourbook and in the novel, it says the "The Watchmaker EST.MMCXI (2112)." Now does this mean that this story is a sequel to 2112? In the book it does say something like the watchmaker took control after the world was taken over by chaos and war. Or maybe it's just a parallel universe with the same basic conflicts? What does everyone think?
  14. Did anyone else notice, or is it just my copy, that in the lyric section of the book, BU2B has one word missing from one of the lines. It says "And the Devil take the rest," while it should be "And the Devil will take the rest...." right?
  15. QUOTE (D3strukt @ Oct 23 2012, 02:20 PM) What is Geddy saying after "I never got my fair share of"? He's singing something, but I can't make it out. Doesn't he just echo "my fair share of" ? That is what it sounds like to me, but I could be wrong, or not be talking about what you really mean...
  16. QUOTE (AFarewellToHemispheres @ Oct 21 2012, 03:04 PM) I think casual fans are less of a problem, the problem you have is first timers (like myself). I went to see the band on the 12th in Philly and it was my first time seeing them live, and I had the time of my life! I'm not a die hard, know every single song and lyirc off of every single album. Even some of the tracks I didn't recognize, I was jamming out to and was finding them the highlight of the show! My friend that I took with me, he had no prior knowledge of Rush, except maybe he had heard Tom Sawyer but that was it. He was rocking out to The Pass, Territories, The Analog Kid(should get played more often), and some of the other deep cuts. He said it was one of the best concerts he had seen ever(He had been to nearly 15 Bruce Springsteen concerts and about 5 others before that mostly country). Not all of the newbies and first timers were disappointed. I think when you're there "in the moment," people tend to think "This is awesome!!! They played..." instead of "This sucks... They completely left out..."Thats just the way I think about it. I wish that I could live it all again!
  17. Call me a loser/no-lifer but I kept track of all of the Rush references I could find throughout the novel. It found it quite good, but I was expecting a little more from the last chapter with "The Garden," but honestly I don't know what I could have been expecting(if that makes any sense). Overall, it's very good, a bit redundant and the references can be seen from a mile a way sometimes, but it is a good compliment to the album. I don't know if this counts as a spoiler, sorry if it does.... Anyway here is my list of what song/album references I found: . . . . . . . Bravado Subdivisions Big Money Cold Fire Dog Years Time Stand Still Stick It Out Roll The Bones Presto Animate Freewill One Little Victory Tom Sawyer Spindrift Far Cry Dreamline Natural Science Xanadu Limelight Force Ten Malignant Narcissism Nobody's Hero Vapor Trail Cut To The Chase Grace Under Pressure All of the CA album, obviously. If anyone else has kept track, feel free to compare and let me know!
  18. I think seeing the live shows adds to the value of each song that was played. It seems like I'm enjoying those songs more then I would have had I not heard them live. CA still for me after 45-50 plays in its entirety, I'm still hearing small nuances that give me chills. It's incredible how much detail has gone in to it. I've also been warming up to Presto (b/c of The Pass), PoW (b/c of Territories, The Big Money, and Grand Designs. Middletown Dreams was ok, but not as good as the others), HYF (Force Ten!, That was so awesome live!), and Roll The Bones (b/c of Where's My Thing and Dreamline which were spectacular!) As Neil says in the tour book, most of their songs are "Made 2 B Played," and he's right. The live shows give so much more definition to the songs and make them even more incredible then they already are!
  19. QUOTE (AddictedRushian @ Oct 12 2012, 06:06 PM) So Sunday will be my first concert ever! I have never been so pumped for anything in my whole life! Still being in high school, this may possibly be one of few really good concerts I'll ever go to as we all know there is no band like Rush, and assuming Rush tours maybe 1 or 2 more times. Everyones talking about seeing them for the 20th time, 50th time, or even 100th time, and let me tell you guys, you are very lucky to have been there since the beginning or even a little later. Cherish it and look back on it. Some of us may never get to see them on tour again. Us teens have it really bad but I'm still really grateful to see them on Sunday. I just hope those who have seen them numerous times are grateful and thankful for being born in a time where seeing them since earlier albums was possible. Rock on!! I feel your pain!!! Last night was my first RUSH concert ever! I was born in 96' so I fall into the ball park. It was absolutely incredible! They played all of my favorites that I never expected to be played on the tour, and it was fantastic. I'm hoping they either do another leg of the tour in N.A. and/or have another tour so I can see them at least one more time. I had one guy who was sitting next to me who had been to 33 concerts and then another behind me who had been to 20. I missed the prime year to be born a rush fan by about 20-30 years. Oh well, at least their live catalog has been pretty well archived so people like us can go back and "experience" what it was like back then!
  20. The show was stellar last night! Even where I was sitting last night was incredible(Section 213)! I just don't know whether its the bad acoustics up there or just me, but Ged's voice seemed higher when I didn't have my earplugs in, but when they were in, it sounded perfect. I was also wondering about how people were saying the strings weren't prevalent in the mix and how that would factor into last night. They were mixed in quite well! I would really like to go to the Prudential center show, or maybe if they come back in 2013 to the Tri State area I'll go then. I think this was the best concert I have seen this year. Yes... In my opinion, it was better then the Wall (Musically at least, but visually, they're both tied).
  21. I think TSOR works excellently as an opener, but it also works amazingly well as a closer... It just builds up all of that energy for the incredible encore(even though Xanadu would have been awesome in the encore). I think 4th Quarter(Manhattan Project/Dreamline - 2112) of the show is probably the strongest by far, although The CA quarter of the set seems to almost want to top it, but I think it gets dragged out a bit....
  22. I'm really hoping they keep Dreamline in the set as permanent, but I'm hearing that Manhattan Project live is really Kickass... I would rather 7cog over Wish Them Well any day, but then there would be no Lerxst rant...(sigh) I wish BU2B would be in there somewhere as well, but beggars can't be choosers!!! I'm going to the Philly show on the 12th, and I'm going to try and stay in the dark for this show IF they make any changes.... I'm so excited
  23. They're ending with Set B... They played Set A last night in Saskatoon, so the first part will end with Set B... I have a strange feeling that they will rotate the rotation, but who knows what they'll do... Maybe they used this first part to test the certain songs, and now they're going to keep the ones that work the best live and get rid of the other ones. In a perfect world, they would combine them all into one big set and add an extra hour to the show... That's not happening...
  24. I'm on the fence about SET A vs SET B especially since now TSOR and 2112 are in both, and especially since I'm only going to see the show only once I would really prefer Set B because of Dreamline and The Pass. However, I want Set A because of 7COG and The Body Electric... Its a tough call...According to their current rotation, Philly(the night I'm going) is getting set B, but who knows what they'll be playing after the break. For all we know, they could rotate night after night back to back of 3 hours of Tai Shan on Night A and I Think I'm Going Bald on Night B The Body Electric over Middletown Dreams The Pass over Bravado 7COG over Wish Them Well (Every time I hear one of the really high background "WISH THEM WELLLLLLLLLLLLL"s I cringe) Dreamline over Manhattan Project Maybe over the break, they'll change it up and do TBE, The Pass, 7Cog and Dreamline in new alternate sets and do the rest in the other... A guy can dream can't he?
