Also being 17, I don't really lean towards the 70s more than the latter. A Show of Hands got me into Rush so PoW and HYF are my special albums along with CA as it was the first album released when I became a Rush fan

So I ended up going to both concerts in Toronto! I gotta say, they blew me away! Opened with Subdivisions, and as soon as all instruments started playing together, I had tears in my eyes. It was the best moment of the 2 concerts, hands down. The feeling of seeing your heros for the first time and being in the same venue as them was a phenominal feeling. I personally love the 80s stuff so the whole entire first half was incredible! Both times! However I really thought Middletown Dreams was not a good choice to play live. I absolutely love the studio version but I felt as if it didn't have enough kick to it. Doesn't matter though, they still kicked ass on it! Smell of pot started to fill me up halfway through the first half. The whole vibe of the concert was something I'll never forget. For some reason though, I couldn't smell pot on the Tuesday.... Anyways, second half of the show made me appreciate the new album much more than before! Wish Them Well has grown on me from one listen on Tuesday! Ged was ripping it on bass as usual while Alex nailed all solos both nights! Neil was obviously on form the whole time. One thing I found with the new stuff in the second half was not everyone was into it. I understand some people may not be too keen on the album but I guess it is what it is, and whatever. I would take Manhattan Project over Dreamline anyday, but the string section was so good that I enjoyed Dreamline as much as Manhattan Project. Now we get to the crowd pleasers... YYZ, The Spirit of Radio, Tom Sawyer, and 2112. Every single person in the building was standing, cheering and singing and/or air drumming! The atmosphere was booming! To top it off, they end with a funny video! Overall, I had the best times of my life, and you know I'll buy tickets whenever they're around Toronto! Long live RUSH!

As soon as they played their opening song on Sunday, I had tears. Also got choked up during The Garden as I always do. You're not alone buddy

Not only Power Windows but Clockwork Angels! I used to listen to the album only as a whole because individually it didnt appeal to me as much as other stuff but now I love every second of it! But yes, I love Power Windows even more now!

So Sunday will be my first concert ever! I have never been so pumped for anything in my whole life! Still being in high school, this may possibly be one of few really good concerts I'll ever go to as we all know there is no band like Rush, and assuming Rush tours maybe 1 or 2 more times. Everyones talking about seeing them for the 20th time, 50th time, or even 100th time, and let me tell you guys, you are very lucky to have been there since the beginning or even a little later. Cherish it and look back on it. Some of us may never get to see them on tour again. Us teens have it really bad but I'm still really grateful to see them on Sunday. I just hope those who have seen them numerous times are grateful and thankful for being born in a time where seeing them since earlier albums was possible. Rock on!!

Not sure if there's a thread on this but does anyone feel like the subtle differences in the LVS solo from the Hemispheres tour flow better than that of the solo on the TMT or even the studio album? I just really prefer the version from the Hemispheres tour and wondering if anyone knows why Alex didn't keep the solo that way...

One day at school I was wearing my Rush tshirt and I went to the bank and the teller was a Rush fan! I also met a teacher who was a fan, and 3 other kids!

At my hockey game, the scorekeeper was calculating the shots. At one point, the shots were 21-12. That made my day

A Show Of Hands got me into Rush. I would watch songs from that concert all the time. The one thing that holds me to them is their live presence. They're so "regular" and unique at the same time. Its hard to explain but I'm sure most of you get it. They're not those crazy ass rock stars with insane hair and smashing guitars and stuff. They play so that they play well and correctly and they look like they're just jamming in incredible coordination. Their stage presence will always be their signature and glue that holds me to them. Funny thing is, I have never been to a concert... yet...

I chose A Show Of Hands. That was the album that got me into Rush so its really special to me. Also, I love Alex's experimental playing! The way he integrates the whammy bar into the songs was so cool! And I just thought it was all-round cool.

My dad had recorded the 2000 NHL All Star Game located in Toronto, Ontario, and the song for the player introductions for the North American All-Stars was YYZ. I loved it! I had no idea what it was but I loved it! Keep in mind that this is years later (around 2002-2004). As I was getting into rock, I heard YYZ on the radio. Heard it was by some band named RUSH. So I checked it out on YouTube for old time's sake. Watching the A Show Of Hands version, I fell in love with how difficult the song was but also how easily they were playing it! And I will admit, I loved Ged's hairstyle! They just looked so cool to me and the drum solo helped a lot with the inspiration. My dad's buddy told me to listen to other stuff such as Limelight and other classics like that. Went to YouTube again and I gotta say, Geddy's voice was kinda bumming it out. I tried again. Didn't like it. I tried again. Same thing. I tried again. WOW, it was unreal! Then I started to listen to what sounded cool from iTunes samples and then heard the full songs. Also started to learn about the band themselves. First time I started taking initiative to learn about the band itself. That's how I fell in love with RUSH
