Two 1977 Commercial Rock Masterpieces!!!

Mac. At first I was like, where's the Floyd's superb album Animals? But then I realized you were saying commercial. And while the Floyd certainly sold a lot, Animals wasn't as commercial as the two albums in this poll. -

Definitely start with Moving Pictures. I did, but then I ended up not really getting into Rush until a year and a half later. But I'm odd, and I listen to waaay too much different music. So yeah, start with Moving Pictures and let happiness seep into your brain and water your flowers.

I believe I saw that very item in a local record store today. I don't think I'd spend that much money on an unauthorized production.

I'm not that in love with TBM. It's not bad, but I just don't think it's that great. Grand Designs, Manhattan Project, Marathon and Mystic Rhythms are all better songs IMO.
-
I saw them live in July but I didn't go for them. They were cool though. Only now am I really getting into them. Self titled is fantastic, and I can't wait for the new album. It should be epic.

Dear Head, Let's go to sleep earlier next time, k? Sincerely, Body

Sillywiz. Now that is a fun sounding word.

QUOTE (Merely Space @ Oct 4 2011, 01:31 PM) Not so many comments directly to me. But I occasionally hear people who know me well muttering to people who don't "No, no, don't ask him about the Rush shirt. He won't shut up if you do." hahahaahahaha

Sounds like we're talking about the actual production of the album? If so, I think Moving Pictures sounds absolutely brilliant. Especially on The Camera Eye. That mix is just so damn good.

She is definitely attractive. Anyone who thinks otherwise has standards that are way too high. Unless of course they are dating Megan Fox.

Worst snub by the R&R Hall of Shame besides Rush

What's wrong with a band being progressive? Are there really no progressive bands in the RRHOF? -
Hemispheres. Can't say that I'm amazed by 2112. But I do need to listen to it more to be fair. Well, Hemispheres for now.

QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Oct 2 2011, 10:02 PM) Calling a drummer bad just because she's fat and a girl just rules. I don't think that's why they were calling her bad.

I'm kinda hurt that I'm not on this poll.

The Analog Kid all day baby!

Drummer wasn't terrible. Music doesn't really do much for me.

Even from looking at the Hemispheres cover and having no understanding of the underlying meaning, the Hemispheres cover still rocks. I liked it before I even really knew the album. Anyways, that list is full of crap. There are quite a few cool album covers on there. And I like the Power Windows cover. I thought for sure it was going to be Hold Your Fire. No list is going to be liked by everyone, but man whoever made that list is terrible at their job.

That is mighty expensive for three letters.

I only watched the first part but the mix sounds pretty good. Better than RIR at least. But I guess that's not saying much

The Pink Floyd Metal Survey: How many Pink Floyd
sco703 replied to treeduck's topic in Music Of The Spheres
QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Sep 29 2011, 11:24 PM) I can't believe they remastered the Pink Floyd catalog again! WTF? "THE DISCOVERY BOX" looks interesting but there really is nothing new. I have a ton of the Japanese mini sleeve remastered PF sets. Does the new remaster really sound worth buying over again? The only thing I will buy is that incredible looking "DARK SIDE" BOX with Blu-Rays and lots of stuff!! When will all of the Rush catalog get the remaster treatment again? Perhaps they will include "Vapor Trails" this time around yet it will still sound like shit. They also have special edition Immersion Wish You Were Here and The Wall box sets coming out soon so keep on the lookout for those. -

Can You Recommend Instrumental Albums?
sco703 replied to danielmclark's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I would check out Scale the Summit and Animals as Leaders. Both cool new bands. Scale the Summit would probably be better for working. Animals as Leaders is just a cool instrumental band.
