Maybe subconsciously they're answering "Who do I want be more like?" Maybe over the years, Neil's lyrics have infiltrated their souls and tricked them into identifying with him. Maybe those that are more Neil-like are more likely to vote whereas someone more Lifeson-like is more likely to skip voting and head to the kitchen for more apple strudel.
