The Analog Cub
The hotter the better! Mild is lame. HOT SALSA FTW Edited October 14, 2014 by BowlCity
Ancient Ways
Hot is preferred but thick is necessary. Watery salsa sucks. Also, cilantro!!!

The Analog Cub
Hot is preferred but thick is necessary. Watery salsa sucks. Also, cilantro!!! I don't like TOO many chunks. It can be chunky but it has to have a sauce part of it as well. To me it isn't salsa if it's just chunks of tomato/onion/peppers. That's called a salad, and we all know that salads are gross :madra:
Mara
Don't like it so hot that it overpowers everything else. My favorite is a mango salsa I get at Costco - not too sweet, has a nice tang to it, and they don't overdo on onions. (I love onions but if I'm not careful when I eat them I will be tasting onion for 3 days). I'm also one of those souls who is genetically programmed to taste cilantro as soap. Cyclonus X-1
I've never really cared for salsa and always leave it off when it's on offer.

I can't eat cilantro by itself or I get the same feeling. When mixed in bits with the salsa it's quite nice.
The Analog Grownup
I like my salsa hot too but of course not meltdown hot. No watery salsa for me either the sauce has to have some thickness to it. :fury:

Trader Joe's makes a nice mango salsa, and an equally nice pineapple salsa. Not as hot as I'd like but they're tasty.
Lost In Xanadu
Almost never buy salsa. My wife and I make it, and it's usually pretty hot.

Janie
^^^ Interesting. I love jalapenos and find them to have quite the kick but I always found tabasco to be tame. Weird.
Maverick
The hottest I've had is a hot sauce that was 675,000 Scovilles. Makes you feel like you had oral surgery. Edited October 14, 2014 by Dr. Sheldon Cooper

LittleRushmonkey
I like hot salsa but with all hot food for some reason I can only manage it if it's with something crunchy or is actually something crunchy otherwise my stomach just goes 'NOPE'. Lost In Xanadu
If in a pinch, and cannot find the poblanos or something to make it at home... I will buy this stuff. Pretty much the only packaged salsa that I really like:http://www.womansday.com/cm/womansday/images/hm/10-desert-pepper-habanero-salsa-lgn.jpgor (#2):http://www.vitacost.com/Images/Products/1000/Desert-Pepper-Trading/Desert-Pepper-Trading-Salsa-Diablo-Hot-719212799236.jpg As far as hot sauce goes - I never let this stuff run out... I use it quite a lot. I love it in chili and jambalaya http://www.hotsauce.com/Dave-s-NEW-Ghost-Pepper-Naga-Jolokia-Hot-Sauce-p/1987.htm http://www.hotsaucesnmore.com/sites/default/files/DGGPNJHS50_265_3.png
