Nice vid, dude. Cool vinyl stack. Did you hear the slight crackle on the record in between songs? Hagar's pretty good at everything he does, Van Halen didn't necessarily do him a favor. The first Montrose album absolutely rips! Voted for just plain ol' Hagar, though.

 

Love the '66 T-Bird on the record cover.

Van Hagar. He was playing with one of the greatest bands of all time, duh. It was no Roth era, but 5150 was incredible and the following albums, although somewhat radio-rock oriented, were still better than any other thing Sammy has done on the whole.

Too bad they don't do a reunion album. I know Sammy has his Chickenfoot project, but it would be nice to get one more "real" Montrose album made.

I know that Ronnie's health isn't really up to par, but he can still play!!!

Get those records Cox. They are hard to find on cd.

I'm surprised the Sammy Hagar solo stuff hasn't been reissued and remastered with bonus tracks.

 

You would think that Sammy would own his own shit by now and buy out those Capital Records Empty Suit Vault Vultures. Geffen too. confused13.gif

I just hate Van Hagar. It's nothing new. We all know the old Van Halen with David Lee Roth is the best EVER!

I listened to the "Three Lock Box" album today in my car on my commute home from work!!! I love that record!

 

Sammy is so great by himself!

 

Bland Halen sucks! But I'm sure they made a boat load of money! Good for them!! I may hate Van Hagar but they deserve every penny then make. I took my dad to see Van Hagar once in Vegas. He loved it. I took my dad to see Sammy open for Montrose here in Concord. My dad loved it.

 

My dad has seen RUSH four times! Loves them! KISS three times! Loves them!

 

The apples don't fall too far from the tree. My dad is wonderful!

Earl, this thread has got me in a Sammy mood of late. Yesterday I went for a run and went through the Red Collection. This morning at the gym I gave the first Chickenfoot album a spin, and right now in my office I've got Standing Hampton going. He's not a great lyricist, but he does have a great voice. I read his book, Red, and I must say he's a bit of a jack@ss, but who among us isn't?

 

And I do love the Van Hagar stuff!
