As I do respect him as a writer I think he is the most annoying overrated musician on the earth. Next to Jerry Garcia.

Jesus just shoot me now.

I had to sit through Bob Dylan as he opened for Aerosmith.

I'm glad I saw him live but while I was there I just wanted to stab my earholes with Michael Myers steak knives.

"Blonde On Blonde?"

I would rather watch a porno by the same name.

To each their own.

OK, so the line (surprisingly) that stood out here is that Dylan opened for Aerosmith.

The latest chapter in Columbia/Legacy's highly acclaimed Bob Dylan Bootleg Series focuses on the legendary studio sessions that produced Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde, the trilogy of album masterpieces which secured Dylan's reputation as a songwriter and performer of unprecedented depth, power and originality while significantly impacting the course of popular music and culture. All recordings included in The Cutting Edge 1965-1966: The Bootleg Series Vol. 12 are pristine transfers and mixed from the original studio tracking tapes.

Picked up the six-disc version. It's awesome, and well worth it. I do find his recent, and rather lovely, Another Self-Portrait set a bit more revealing. This set captures the thrill of being in the studio with Bob during his "mercury sound" peak.

It's a splendid record. Only now is it getting some kudos.

I'll have to revisit now Hatchy has given it the thumbs-up.

Street-Legal is a victim of timing, being released between the "return to form" brilliance of Blood on the Tracks/Desire and his "Born again" period.

Interested to know your take on it as well.

It wouldn't crack my top ten, but it's certainly a good album.

Have a feeling the same, still it's been a while and needs a reassessment.

Happy 75th Bob Dylan!

I cannot think of a point in my life when his music wasn't part of it...

...From my Mom playing his music when I was very young to buying his latest album, "Fallen Angels" the other day!

A musical treasure, indeed.
