EagleMoon
Worst singer ever next to Dylan. whoa, that's the spirit !! Interestingly, the three of the most polarizing singers I can think of are Neil Young, Bob Dylan and 70s Geddy grating I like all three Both Dylan and Neil Young sound like they're singing out of tune half the time. That drives me nuts more than the tone of the voice.Really?? Bob is way off but neil is on this harvest moon .. sorta like patio lanterns .. If I knew what you just said I could respond correctly. The ones the OP cobbled together are great too. Even at his dodgiest, Re-Act-Or, Landing On Water et al, he was able to cough up a gem or two. Rush fans not liking his voice. Or Dylan's. Rush fans. That's funny.

Prairie Wind has some great songs on it. And the Heart of Gold film he did at the Ryman Auditorium to promote it is absolutely fantastic. I would say Le Noise is my favourite from this century though. Nobody's mentioned his debut album yet, that's got some classic stuff on it :)

The poll is pretty limited. Neil has made so many great records.

Lurkst
After the Gold Rush ZumaBUT my favorite NY song is this. Unusually for a Neil Young song the drumming on Revolution Blues is brilliant. Levon Helm, what a legend!
Lorraine
His voice never bothered me decades ago, but yesterday, after listening to Harvest and a few of his other tunes, I can see how one would think "This man has a wretched voice!"

Ancient Ways
I've always loved harvest and harvest moon. Voted the latter. Me too and me too. Harvest Moon is a strong statement from start to finish, and there isn't a weak song on it. It's also the one that I most consistently listen to year-in and year-out.Check out harvest moon, from Hank to Hendrix and unknown legend unplugged on YouTube if you haven't seen them. Absolutely amazing.
greyfriar
Going with Rust Never Sleeps (even if it's not on the list). Now take a psychedelic pill, sit back, relax and enjoy driftin' back... :sundog:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmHljOmSw6I
