You should wear a Rush T that says "Witch Hunt" when you meet Carpenter!

And I bet you he likes Rush too! Anyone that can make films as varied as Halloween, Escape From NY, Starman, The Thing, The Fog, Big Trouble in Little China, Assault on Precinct 13, etc. would appreciate the versatility of Rush.

Really, at his best, Carpenter's films have raw power, mood, thoughtfulness, subtlety, sensitivity, and a sense of humor...all things that Rush has demonstrated in their peak years too.

I liken Vampires to Counterparts....

It wasn't anywhere near his best stuff but it was much better than I expected. It had some cool moments and I was entertained so I can't really complain. Yeah, that's Counterparts.

Oh, apparently there was a Vampires sequel starring Bon Jovi. Uh oh. Additionally, it was directed by the same dude who did Halloween 3 and It. I know you like Halloween 3 Earl but did you take a chance on Bon Jovi and watch that sequel?

Tommy Lee Wallace directed Halloween 3. Was also a big factor in HALLOWEEN. I never saw the sequel to "Vampires!" I know Jon is a good actor but I am simply not a fan. Have you seen that commercial he is in? Silver haired fox!

I saw The Thing in the theater June 29th 1982 .. I remember that date because my friends and I saw Iron Maiden the NEXT DAY in Glen Cove Long Island . .

My parents drove us to both shows !!

How great was it being young ?!?!

I was obsessed with The Thing all thru high school .. I got it immediately after it came out on VHS, and anyone who came into our house had to watch it ..

But I am disappointed overall with the lack of movies from Japan, Korea and Thailand that have come out in the past 15 years or so - for me, that is an incredible era for some truly great films ..

HOLY SHIT JOHN CARPENTER!!!!!!!!! RULES!!!!!!!

I'm just going to write my review here rather than start something down below because I know the people who love horror are commenting here!!!!

MY MIND WAS BLOWN!

JOHN WAS SO NICE!!!

I wore my Hemispheres shirt. I asked him if he liked Rush. He said, "yeah their ok." LOL!

I then asked him if he had one more horror film in him. He said, "I SURE DO!" So I found out he is writing the new HALLOWEEN film but not directing. BOO HOO!

Oh well.

John was so sweet. Shook my hand. I told him that I loved him. I told him that he was my "Neil Peart of film." Not sure if he knew the reference. Oh well.

So his son Cody the keyboard player and the guitar player where sitting next to him. No fan seemed to care or know. I did. I brought two items for John to sign. one was "Lost Themes." A black album cover.

John turned the vinyl over and he said, hey my son and this other guy are also on this record. Would you like them to sign it too? I said, Of course they can!! I know Cody is your son!!!

So they also signed the record in silver sharpie. KILLER. Pun intended.

I had third row center. The set blew my fuckingg mind into a billion little pieces. No Dark Star and no Halloween III. Figures right? But everything else was covered!!!! I loved how they edited the films to go along with the music. PERFECT.

John loved raising the devil horns in the air!!! Incredible stuff. TWO GUITARS!!!!!!

I'm glad a lot of you think I'm an asshole. Keep thinking that please. Good Karma!!! I am so blessed. Yet so cursed.

Even John yelled out and I quote, "I HOPE THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS KICK THE CAVALIERS RIGHT IN THE ASS!!!!!!!!"

THE JOINT WENT NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!

So I won't spoil anything but I will say this. John closed the set by saying this......

"Thank you all for coming tonight we really appreciate it!! Now please on your way home please drive safe because you might run into................................................"

Not including Rush, this night is in my top 5 of all time.

I've seen well over 600 shows.

I am in love with Goblin. But not even they can hold a fuckingg flame to the genius of John Carpenter.
