custom55
Let's add Eddie's table top, both wood and plexiglass models, into the 'tapping' discussion. I think the plexiglass version was built into the back of the guitar and flipped out. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/custom55/13dcfcc79dec941eed26b95faf358cd2_zpspslcnlvu.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/custom55/EddieTabletop_zpsnzxktnnk.jpg Edited August 6, 2016 by custom55

Rod in Toronto
Can Diamond Dave still do these splits and jumps and stuff? :) Some of them...certainly not the high jump from the drum riser.

If he can still do those things at his age, he has my sincere admiration. He must be in good physical shape. I wouldn't be able to walk the next day if I tried it.

Rod in Toronto
Sammy´s a class act! VHND has published a few videos of an acoustic session in 1993 - only Sam and Eddie. Here´s a sample: http://youtu.be/x4nJSxk9_9c
custom55
Had this show on today. Didn't get through the entire show but DRL fits in well with the Van Halen party band atmosphere. I think this performance is fantastic. Eddie... On fire http://youtu.be/nY3vt-48Zzk Edited November 19, 2016 by custom55

P.S. Is Sammy the one who is/was connected by in-laws to Ray? Edited November 19, 2016 by Lorraine

Oh well...................... Edit: That was quite the impressive guitar solo from Eddie at the end. He was a natural. P.S. Is Sammy the one who is/was connected by in-laws to Ray?I believe it was Alex VH that was Ray's brother-in-law. https://groups.googl...ush/61hHPZ_QXIQ I (Sammy) looked at Alex and said, 'Well, Ray's had f***ing Rush for 23 years. Do you think he's going to be more loyal to us than them?' He said, 'Oh, Rush isgoing to retire. They are washed up. Ray knows they're finished. He told me that himself.' Alex went on and on with all this horseshit about Rush he'd beentold by Ray." Hagar says he was appalled at the negative comments directed toward Rush by Alex Van Halen that he attributed directly to Ray Danniels. Sammy was even more offended at the fact that Al's brother-in-law wanted to manage Van Halen so badly, he was willing sell out his other band to get the job. Wayne
Sammy Hagar Diamond Dave is a living legend: a witty, intelligent man and a great frontman. Sammy is the better singer no question. All 4 Van Hagar albums are great. The Sam saved his best performance to last: Feelin' - the soulful final track on the Balance album.Check out the pipes after Ed's sizzlin' solo. https://youtu.be/p6ZEWDdLsuA Edited November 20, 2016 by Wayne
Turbine Freight
Roth wins this one easily. The part he was born to play.

But the poll is favorite. Gonna be hard to beat DLR on this one
