Saw Saga in 1983 in Amsterdam. Love the early music albums. Rush was number 1 then (and now), but Saga came second during those years. Great to see there are other fans!

Welcome to the Board, mate!

I think they opened for Jethro Tull in 1982-ish. Do they have a song Tonight We're on The Loose, or something to that effect? Not bad, not great.

"No one can stop you know...Tonight you're on the loose...bah-duh-dum...bah-duh-dum!" That's the one!

I also lost interest in the late Eighties, but I saw them again in a small gym a few years ago and that show got me fired up again.

Some years ago I had a thread going here about the 20/20 album. Not much interest back then, but I think it's a pretty solid album.

I remember that thread...

I don't remember thinking they were a "prog" band. For some reason the singer made me think of Phil Mogg.

Late seventies porn-era.

Haha! I went Eighties porn! I love Ginger Lynn! Anyway Ron Jeremy baby! Met him once in LA at The Rainbow. He told my wife that she was very kissable. Then he kissed her!!!!!

I love that your porn-filter is that nuanced.

Guys like these almost always look way better when they lose the friggin' flavor-saver. Check out the album cover for Wildest Dreams.

My wife always gets so grossed out by big moustaches - imagine getting it in your teeth . . .

That is disgusting! All the bacteria, viruses, crumbs, beer stench, cigarette stained sickness. I just shaved!

Saga rocking a big German crowd back in the 80's

Damn that's a great video! I must say that Ian looks like Steven Rothery! Two of my top two guitar players in the world!!!!

I was at this festival. Great show from Saga, I was front row to see them. The billing was fantastic too, a lot of great bands that had a good run during the eighties. Besides Saga I saw The Alarm, Marillion, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, U2, Huey Lewis, Nightranger, Joe Cocker... Hard to believe that it was over 30 years ago.

Yeah I'm pretty easy to spot. I'm the guy with the reefer and the jerrycan, full of red wine. :smoke:

I don't want to go on that Prog Cruise Ship to see Saga. I hear that SAGA is calling it quits after this year? Will they play some dates in Canada? I might book a flight and go.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Rod if you read this, it would be great to fly up and see you too if SAGA is playing near you........
