Famous in the professional golf world I met Payne Stewart at the Kemper Open in Potomac MD in the very early 90's. Super nice guy just as one who knows anything about professional golf would expect. The "ugly" is standing next to him... :)

What a cool photo! This must be a bittersweet memory for you. The whole circumstances of his passing away was such a tragedy . . .

It is indeed. I followed him even before he ever came close to winning on the PGA tour. He ended up having a very good career on the tour but came so close to winning so many more times. A top 10 machine he was for many years. The man had style and grace. RIP...

When I was 15 I visited a friend who lived outside Los Angeles and we met George Carlin and his daughter on the Universal Studios tour, at an ice cream stand type place. It was in the mid 70's and his career was in kind of a lull at the time; it seems odd now but no one else recognized him and it took us awhile to be brave enough to go up and ask for an autograph. He was really nice and kept cracking jokes about us having no paper to sign- (we didn't- this was a paper towel from the ice cream stand. . .)

An earlier summer another friend won a ticket and meet and greet contest with the Osmond Brothers and Donny Osmond - I was into other music :D :D - but I was a good friend and went with her. I must say, they were all sweet hearts and spent about 20 minutes with us and invited us to say Hi again the next morning and wave their tour bus off- we went- they were sweethearts again. I read later on that they lost almost all of their money building a recording and TV studio in Utah hoping it would become another LA and it didn't- I felt bad when I saw that.

When I was 14, we used to ride the bus to Three Rivers Stadium and go to Pirate games in the summer. Sometimes afterward, we would wait by the player parking area and see if we could get autographs. I remember getting Willie Stargell's (Hall of Famer and awesome guy) and Dave Parker's. I have them around somewhere . . . no selfies in those days and no eBay either; it was just something kind of for fun; I think they are signed on notebook paper . . .

Hockey player - one of the Sutter brothers. Don't remember which one though -

myself & best friend were at one of the LI malls, there was a hockey auction

Mr. Sutter was walking around department store, we followed. We asked for Autographs,

Signed for friend and then said to me I am not signing anymore and walked away.

That's what happens when you're the 'ugly' one and not dressed like a whore, you get insulted and ignored. Oh well.

So later on in life I am in upper Manhattan and stopped to get a soda at a corner market and I turned around and looked down the aisle and I swear to god there was Ric Ocasek. How many people look like him? Nobody. It was him. In a split second, I was back at that stupid mall in high school and so I just stood there for a moment and then I just.. smiled.

And he threw his basket up in the air, screamed in terror and ran through the screen door of the market, knocking the screen off into a large display of apples, which released themselves onto the floor...

No, that is not what happened. He returned my smile with a smile and I was perfectly happy with that. Cool! I'll take it :).

A couple I forgot:

Hanging out with the Mighty Lemon Drops on their tour bus

Hanging out with Killing Joke on their bus, and turning down Jaz Coleman's offer of getting stoned with him :)

Your hair is too short.

Perfect for your tiny hands!

People are unaware that you're not actually a long-haired metal maniac but a one-eyed orb.

Here's a nostalgic photo of our first meetup...violent, bloody mess that it was:

Yes, this was your white glove Michael Jackson phase. Good to know you grew out of that...though not entirely
