bluefox4000
Boy bands in general :laughing guy: i grew up in that era. the 90's wave i mean. sue me.......some of it stuck. Heck the Beatles were a glorified boy band in the early stages. Mick Edited August 17, 2015 by bluefox4000
JohnnyBlaze
Heck the Beatles were a glorified boy band in the early stages. MickJust because young girls thought they were cute doesn't constitute them being a glorified boy band. Unless you're using some criteria that I don't know about, I see very little in common between them and The Backstreet Boys or New Kids on the Block of the era you're talking about.

They were a very British rock n roll band.

Xanadu
I've loved Huey Lewis before American Psycho made it "cool." Also, I have to mention Duran Duran. I liked Duran Duran back in the 80's when they hit the music scene and I still like them today.

Boy band and girl band music of the last 25 years is 99% of the time a bland redoing of what made the sixties great. It shows how far rock n roll has come since the sixties, and considering how both of love pop rock, the majority of the AOR classics should be labeled proto-boyband as well.

But I think your standard of "ain't that far off" is very different from mine. Vietnamese food ain't that far off something you'd eat in Cambodia. Early Beatles and those 90s boy bands is as similar as a basket of Fish & Chips and a bag of Pepperidge Farm's Goldfish crackers. Wait, wtf am I talking about? Blue J
I love Joni Mitchell Hejira album. I have the CD in my safety deposit box at the band. http://youtu.be/rG0kNny3WlY Joni Mitchell is a guilty pleasure? I might as well go to the devil right now, then. Hejira is tied at the top of my favourite Joni albums, with just one other. That one and Blue. Both are absolutely indispensable.
