My show (maybe shows) aren't until at least the 19th of this month, but from what I've seen posted so far:

Putting Headlong Flight early in the show with Ged's voice ready to rock. This is the best live song they've written I think.

Main Monkey Business is a killer instrumental and seems to be a crowd favorite this tour.

How It Is making its live debut, they seem to really enjoy playing it.

Losing It obviously

Them playing TCE on their own accord without the fan pressure this time.

Prelude into Part 1 is freaking genius, especially with the drum solo.

Xanadu with the double necks.

Geddy actually singing presentation better than he did on the TFE tour (from what I can tell).

The whole encore!

Sorry for leaving out Jacob's Ladder, as I'm super excited to hear it, but its obvious why they haven't played it in 35 years, it is not a live song lol. But Howard definitely seems to have made up for the dragging parts with his lighting skillz.

I have to agree with everything except your comment about JL not being a song for live performances. For a prog song, think it came across really well and you're right about the lighting being excellent. JL was one of my highlights. Edited by Shemp

Xanadu, Jacob's Ladder, and Natural Science in Philly. Those songs alone were worth the price of admission!!

Was at the MSG show:

Distant Early Warning -- this is when they seemed to really kick it in, and the crowd was going nuts.

Losing It - of course.

Cygnus X-1 was simply mind-blowing.

Jacobs Ladder was powerful as hell, and what an awesome laser accompaniment

...that second set was almost overwhelmingly good.

For me, the best moments are always "OMG THEY'RE PLAYING THAT ONE" moments, and in this tour there were quite a few (well, largely only at the first show I saw, obviously). Some (the act openers especially) were enhanced by the accompanying visual transitions that made them extra awesome. But the best of all were mid-song internal moments -- the realization that they weren't just doing an instrumental Hemi Prelude, and the transition into Presentation in 2112. The latter, especially, meant a lot to me, as the lyrics hit me in a particular way, seeing a band whose music has been such an inspiration to me for what might be the last chance I get:

Listen to my music;

Hear what it can do.

There's something here that's as strong as life;

I know that it will reach you!

It sure did.

I really hope crowds notice early on the running theme of breaking down the "gear"/changing it around. That made the entire show one big story, in my opinion, so that when they got to amps on chairs with a high school gym backdrop, the story was complete. Brilliant, and kudos to whoever came up with that. Definitely made for an added fun thing to watch during the show (especially since the helpers wore the red jumpsuits).

Distanr Early Warning was my favourite moment of the first set at MSG

Did you hear the crowd singing along with the chorus? It was incredibly pronounced in my section (Alex side, 200's), and blew my damn mind, b/c it's not a singalong song. It actually made me cry, realizing how into it everyone was.

For Newark, my favorite part of the show was Jacobs Ladder. NYC it was Losing It--I was too much in shock in Newark to really listen closely to it, but in NYC I was really totally blown away by the violin solo.

This goes for songs or otherwise:

As far as songs go, I think my absolute favorite after seeing the show was hands down Cygnus X-1.

Right from the beginning, the bass sound was just so awesome live, and then Geddy doing his little added diddles to the intro lick.

The drum solo added in the middle was amazing, the light show going on during the solo was amazing as well.

Kicking back into Cygnus with Alex's strumming and then Geddy jumping in the air to resume the drums & bass for the jam section!

From this point to the end it was just pure rock awesomeness plus INCREDIBLE lighting and lasers going on!!

This literally might have been one of my favorite and memorable Rush performances I've ever seen!

Two other "silly" little things I enjoyed immensely were the inflatable tube behind Neil for 2112 (hysterical!) and Geddy's ARF 40 shirt. I don't know why but seeing Ged in that shirt just makes me smile. Similar to the Rash shirt on Time Machine. All the "silly" little things always put a smile on my face and I really appreciate them.

Please share your favorite things!!

I agree 100% with your comments on Cygnus X-1. It was Madri-cal to the X-1reme. ;)

That song definitely had a noticeable crowd reaction at MSG. I'm a fan of the song, but was pretty surprised by how strong a reaction it got. I guess it was probably the first widely recognizable song from the first set to get played.

Xanadu in ATL and DEN was the highlight of both shows for me.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the camera work/production team does a fantastic job of calling the shots. If you watch the video screens, it actually enhances the performance. Not many shows can do that. I have personal experience with live video and know how challenging it is.

So many on this tour!

I guess hearing Losing it live would be first.

Opening Night through Periscope - two .

Jacobs Ladder Live in Tampa and the return of Lasers - three.

I guess great things come in three!

Xanadu and Jacob's Ladder for me. Just wish I had gotten Natural Science as well but can't have it all I suppose... :codger:

Natural Science was okay, but I think I would have rather seen that played during the TFE tour instead. The intensity of that song seemed to be missing when I saw it in Philly.
