  1. After seeing the show I cannot complain about the setlist at all. 200% satisfied. However, to be nitpicky, I personally was hoping for something from T4E going in. I have yet to see anything from that album live (started seeing them at S&A tour). I personally believe that Rush themselves don't care for the album. At least Neil wore a T4E logo shirt!
  2. Did you hear the crowd singing along with the chorus? It was incredibly pronounced in my section (Alex side, 200's), and blew my damn mind, b/c it's not a singalong song. It actually made me cry, realizing how into it everyone was. That song definitely had a noticeable crowd reaction at MSG. I'm a fan of the song, but was pretty surprised by how strong a reaction it got. I guess it was probably the first widely recognizable song from the first set to get played.
  3. This goes for songs or otherwise: As far as songs go, I think my absolute favorite after seeing the show was hands down Cygnus X-1. Right from the beginning, the bass sound was just so awesome live, and then Geddy doing his little added diddles to the intro lick. The drum solo added in the middle was amazing, the light show going on during the solo was amazing as well. Kicking back into Cygnus with Alex's strumming and then Geddy jumping in the air to resume the drums & bass for the jam section! From this point to the end it was just pure rock awesomeness plus INCREDIBLE lighting and lasers going on!! This literally might have been one of my favorite and memorable Rush performances I've ever seen! Two other "silly" little things I enjoyed immensely were the inflatable tube behind Neil for 2112 (hysterical!) and Geddy's ARF 40 shirt. I don't know why but seeing Ged in that shirt just makes me smile. Similar to the Rash shirt on Time Machine. All the "silly" little things always put a smile on my face and I really appreciate them. Please share your favorite things!!
  4. They're more this time. http://www.rushbackstage.com/ Is there more available at the show or is this everything? (Talking about shirts in particular)
  5. I've got a bad feeling about Geddy holding up for my show in NYC...looks like they are playing pretty much every other night from June 8th through 29th, with NYC being on the 29th. Ah well, it'll still be awesome anyway, just never seen them at the end of a long stretch before.
  6. So......I'm no audiophile but when it comes to Rush, I'd like the music to sound as good as possible. I've been gandering at hdtracks for a while and I have to ask....is it that noticable of a difference that justifies the price tag? I have a pretty good pair of headphones and I can hear the difference between mp3 and CD quality (I don't think its a huge difference, but I can notice it). Will I be able to notice a difference with HDtracks and will it be the same step as mp3 to CD or more/less? I tried out the sampler but that doesn't give me any idea about rock music. Thanks in advance!
  7. I may very well be the only person here who hasn't seen this but I just found out about this concert the other day and am shocked I had never heard of it before. Even more shocked to see they played a short cover of "Paint it Black" and I've never heard about it. That being the case, I figured I'd share in case anyone else hasn't. Looks like this was between the VT tour and R30 tour. Toronto SARS Benefit Concert July 30th, 2003 450,000 fans (Wow!!) AC/DC, Rush, Justin Timberlake, The Flaming Lips, The Isley Brothers and The Guess Who http://youtu.be/Im04kIyseEo According to setlist.fm: Tom Sawyer Limelight Dreamline YYZ Freewill Closer to the Heart Paint It Black (Rolling Stones cover) The Spirit of Radio There is also a video of the "entire concert" but it is lacking songs from that setlist, so I'm assuming they were just cut from the video. Rush starts at about 49:20 http://youtu.be/0SSRfkwX9s8
  8. He's a little bit afraid of dying, but he's a lot more afraid of your LION! The "Wakey-wakey" and "lemony cake" are pretty hilarious, though I'm sure I'll never be able to unhear them now!
  9. The enunciation of the very last "razor's edge" in The Pass. Such a little change, yet so awesome.
  10. Rush: What You're Doing Fly By Night: Fly By Night Caress of Steel: The Fountain Of Lamneth 2112: Something For Nothing A Farewell to Kings: Cygnus X-1 Hemispheres: Cygnus X-1 Book II:Hemispheres Permanent Waves: Jacob's Ladder Moving Pictures: The Camera Eye Signals: The Weapon Grace Under Pressure: Kid Gloves Power Windows: Emotion Detector Hold Your Fire: Lock and Key Presto: Chain Lightning Roll the Bones: The Big Wheel Counterparts: Cut To The Chase Test For Echo: Test For Echo Vapor Trails: Vapor Trail Snakes & Arrows: We Hold On Clockwork Angels: Headlong Flight
  11. As far as recording/mixing, I don't get why they didn't just continue doing it all exactly the same as R30 was done. IMO that was recorded and mixed perfectly. Definitely frustrating because they deserve a much better representation for CA AND TMT.
  12. I think overall from the samples that do have vocals, he is sounding pretty good. And vocals aside, the musicianship is 10/10. I can't seem to stop clicking on: Where's My Thing Middletown Dreams Headlong Flight Seven Cities of Gold! Disc 2 especially sounds like its going to be a real treat (for CA fans anyway)
