YYZumbi Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 There's three different vinyl versions being released plus the Blu Ray. What? :o What is the different on the vinyls?
Digital Dad Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 No, just one vinyl. http://www.rushisaband.com/blog/2014/12/09/4191/12-Months-of-Rush-Mercury-era-Rush-albums-to-release-on-Blu-ray-audio-and-vinyl-in-2015 Let's not make this tooo difficult ;)

tas7 Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 No, digital dad, no need to be a smart arse.https://www.redeye.com.au/answer.asp?reion=USA&atype=both&artist=rush+&code=2&search=search&offset=30

Different numbers and terminology for different countries?
Blue J Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I'm pretty sure that the second of the three entries, DLCD, stands for the downloaded digital version. I could be wrong. But there is an download code that came with the 40th anniversary vinyl for the first album, and those download files are all sourced from the vinyl, rather than a 'cleaner' (or...more sterile?) digital file, if you know what I mean. The HQ vinyl is probably the 200-gram version, and the standard vinyl release would be for the ultra-purist, who wants to buy as close to the original release of the album. Or something like that. Again, just a hunch, on my part. But that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
g under p Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 The kid plays this with such ease... Liked this from one of the comments... Alex and Geddy: Sorry Neil, but this kid works for happy meals and animal balloons. We're gonna have to let you go. Peace 1
tas7 Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) Thanks Blue J, think you're probably right. Not much difference in the price but it would be nice to have some explanation so as to know which to buy. Edited January 18, 2015 by tas7

Oh I've seen his work and play ......my first was Tom Sawyer probably the best one....when he hits the 2:40 mark and from that point on the smile he puts on is PRICELESS. I think he was smiling at his Dad that he got through a drum sequence flawlessly.
tas7 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Can you clowns put those videos in your own thread.More info seems to point differences depending on which country the pressings come from. At the moment it doesn't appear that there will be any issue of the album here in Australia.

Cygnus 2112 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 They are releasing it on Vinyl, another audio only Blu-Ray, and a downloadable version so you can get it on your computer.
YYZumbi Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 This maybe means something? http://ultimateclassicrock.com/rush-hi-def/
mechanizedworld Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Any word on the differences between these re-release downloads and the Sectors downloads. Unless these have been remastered, I don't see the point in them. One could just save a ton downloading Sectors instead. Dare I say it's simply a Mercury cash grab?

I am not buying these for the downloads, I just want the vinyls. So who cares if the download files are from the sector boxes or not?
Blue J Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I think the download files are actually from the vinyl source.
