condemned2bfree
What are your top 3 bands for lyrics; primarily. Mine would be 1. joy division. Boggles the mind that Ian curtis wrote these beautifull and insightful lyrics, before his untimely death at 23.Words that are grandiose and personal, esoteric but yet understood, well they mean a lot to me. Cant think of another band that has had such an impact on music, yet are so underrated and unkown. Ian Curis's lyrics cut to the bone or chase, so fatalstic but eloquently put; it puts up a convincing case for 'being'. Heart and soul Instincts that can still betray us,A journey that leads to the sun,Soulless and bent on destruction,A struggle between right and wrong. You take my place in the showdown,I'll observe with a pitiful eye,I'd humbly ask for forgiveness,A request well beyond you and I. Heart and soul, one will burn.Heart and soul, one will burn. An abyss that laughs at creation,A circus complete with all fools,Foundations that lasted the ages,Then ripped apart at their roots.Beyond all this good is the terror,The grip of a mercenary hand,When savagery turns all good reason,There's no turning back, no last stand. Heart and soul, one will burn.Heart and soul, one will burn. Existence well what does it matter?I exist on the best terms I can.The past is now part of my future,The present is well out of hand. The present is well out of hand. Heart and soul, one will burn.Heart and soul, one will burn. One will burn, one will burn.Heart and soul, one will burn. 2. Meat puppets. Oh what abstract joy these guys bring. Skewed, etheral blobby, wonderful words. Happiness, otherworldy, so many great words, hard to choose the best example really. These guys take me elsewhere and bring me back better for it. http://cdn.tonefuse.com/overlay/uploads/images/2cca88490f51b7f30aafbc6d66c7f414.png Play the "Meat Puppets" Quiz Island Video:http://i.ytimg.com/vi/4LDAfrXeOhk/0.jpghttp://www.lyricsmania.com/images/play2.pngLyrics to Island Someday on the moonwalk everything was rightbounced on the onfloat history of lifesomewhere in the afterglow peeling it felland it's good to see the happiness far You're the grassyou're the treesyou're the thing that makes the windyou're the roots of the skyyou're an islandyou never moveyou never sleepyou're the thought I cannot keepyou're a denessen of the deepyou're and island Always in the nevergladespurple wings in five picturegolden eyes and Isomewhere in the afterglow peeling it fellwhere it's coming from no one can ever tell You're the grassyou're the treesyou're the thing that makes the windyou're the roots of the skyyou're an islandyou never moveyou never sleepyou're the thought I cannot keepyou're a denessen of the deepyou're and island Somewhere on the earth now everything is cooldrinking from the afterflow splash becomes a poolsomewhere in the afterglow peeling it fellwhere it's coming from no one can ever tell You're the grassyou're the treesyou're the thing that makes the windyou're the roots of the skyyou're an islandyou never moveyou never sleepyou're the thought I cannot keepyou're a denessen of the deepyou're and island you never moveyou never sleepyou're the thought I cannot keepyou're a denessen of the deepyou're and island You're the moonyou're the glassdown stone the donkeys assup above the heavens laughyou're an island 3 New model army. These guys know the score. Political to the core, less so in recent years, they can get a bit righteous(one of the reason snakes and arrows was a turn off) Never the less, their lyrics are rather poignant to me. Very valued, justin is a great poet, for sure. Our history speaks in thunder from a thousand village hallsIn blood and sweat and sacrifice, in honouring every callSo the forces gathered against the thorn a-piercing in their sideA brave new world is beckoning so the olden world must die.In the offices of the city, at all the tables of oak and powerThe snares are laid and baited for the approaching of the hourA hundred justifications and the presses are ready to rollThe gateways to the nation they are firmly under controlChorus:On, on, on, cried the leaders at the backWe went galloping down the blackened hillsAnd into the gaping trapThe bridges are burnt behind us and there's waiting guns aheadInto the valley of death rode the brave hundredsWe called for some assistance from the friends that we had knownBut this is the 1980s and we were on our ownWe never felt like heroes or martyrs to a causeJust battle-weary soldiers in a bloody civil warThe massacre now is over and the order new enshrinedWhile a quarter of the nation are abandoned far behindTheir leaders offer the clich?words, so righteous in defeatBut no one needs morality when there isn't enough to eatThe unity bond is broken and the loyalty songs are fakeI'll screw my only brother for even a glimpse at a piece of the cakeWe only cry in private here behind the shuttered glassWhen we think of the charge of this brigade, the severing of the pastChorus:On, on, on, cried the leaders at the backWe went galloping down the blackened hillsAnd into the gaping trapThe bridges are burnt behind us and there's waiting guns aheadInto the valley of death rode the brave hundreds Read more: New Model Army - The Charge Lyrics | MetroLyrics Honorable mentions procal harum flaming lips.
