ThatLightInYourEyes Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 When you think about it, golf is the ideal men's sport. All you do is wander around with your stick, trying to make it into the hole with as few tries as possible, just so you can brag about it with your friends later. :P 3
Narps Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I played tons of golf in my lifetime and had 2 holes in one. I always used an extra long driver too. The extra length gave me added distance thus greater pleasure.... :d13: 1
Janie Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Golf is definitely a man's sport. So many men around here play golf. It seems like there are courses everywhere. We're right in between two private courses and there's one public one a short drive away. I tried golf. Lord knows I tried. It's frustrating. I can't believe how much I cussed. When I was 18 I had a summer job at a golf course where my job was to travel around the course writing down scores, getting drinks and laughing at really bad jokes by the men playing golf. I'm convinced there must only be like five women in the world who play this sport!
Rushchick10 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I've never understood the appeal. In fact, I think it's almost laughable to call it a "sport." But, to each one's own. 2
Narps Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Golf is not unlike Geddys voice and Rush music in general. You either get it or you don't...
HomesickAlien Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I can't imagine a more boring pastime. http://youtu.be/Z4w7H48tBS8 3
EagleMoon Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I always thought the appeal was being able to drink while you were doing it.
Narps Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I always thought the appeal was being able to drink while you were doing it.:smoke: This never hurt either back in the day...
ThatLightInYourEyes Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 I can't imagine a more boring pastime. http://youtu.be/Z4w7H48tBS8 You know, when I saw interview clips of Alex on the golf course, my mind went to exactly this. :laughing guy: 2

Narps Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I used to play with myself a lot especially when I was younger. Never bored me at all.... :)
GeddysMullet Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I used to play with myself a lot especially when I was younger. Never bored me at all.... :) :rfl: :LMAO: 1
Cyclonus X-1 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I never bothered with golf because I don't think I have the sort of coordination I would need to be good at it. I mean, I'm not some clumsy stumblebum or anything, but I could easily see myself struggling just to make a precise hit and launch a good drive. But when it comes to miniature golf or computer-game golf... I'm there. 1
Janie Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 But when it comes to miniature golf or computer-game golf... I'm there.I love miniature golf. Truly. I will challenge anyone to a round of putt-putt. And I'm really competitive which is a weird trait to have during miniature golf. Don't question my ability to tap that ball through the windmill blades. 1

RushCanuck Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Alex likes playing golf because he can hear the birds chirping and the horses neying..
Rushchick10 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Personally, I am the type that I can be good at just about anything physical or "athletic." But, not great at everything. I am great at long distance cycling because I have made stamina. But, Golf...I just have no desire. It seems so mundane.
Brucey Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) I can play crazy golf and what have you, any golf related game which just involves putting and a little chipping...but proper golf? No, can't do it, I can't drive the ball to save my life. Edited February 26, 2014 by RushAreAwesome
Janie Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I can play crazy golf and what have you, any golf related game which just involves putting and a little chipping...but proper golf? No, can't do it, I can't drive the ball to save my life.It is really hard to play golf. I have a whole new perspective and appreciation for the sport. Plus, it's very enlightening. Until I tried golf, I had no idea the expanse of my cuss library nor did I know that I have the upper body strength of a marshmallow. I'm actually bummed it didn't work out. I was thinking it would be a good way to just hang out with friends and enjoy a nice course.
