Entre_Perpetuo
So my dad and I were watching Beyond The Lighted Stage (the Rush documentary), and we noticed that Geddy asked his mother to buy him a guitar when he was a child, but it never mentioned how he ended up playing bass. I've done some quick searching online, and I can't seem to find out how he came across the bass there either. So I'm turning to you guys of the Rush fan community. Does anyone know how Geddy picked up the bass guitar?
YYZumbi
Good question, let me know if you find out the answer! I have seen Beyond The Lighted Stage as well, but havent really think about it before.
Citizen of the World
In the book "Visions" there is mention that Geddy started out on rhythm guitar in his previous band then switched when the bass player quit. That must be around '67 or '68.

Babycat
Didn't he start off with an electric guitar first before moving onto a bass?
Blue J
I would guess that he picked it up with both hands. He seems like the careful sort of chap.
