LeaveMyThingAlone
I got mine, you got yours? Vocals- Hemispheres Side 1Geddy nearly killed himself singing this as the music was recorded too high, but he came through with the best vocals of his career Guitar-Double AgentAin't no one expecting this but the sickest riffing I've ever heard. Classic Al Bass- Roll the BonesGeddy does his own powerful riffing here with that funkalicious riff during the verses and it makes me feel groovy Drumming-Leave That Thing AloneMy steering wheel takes a beating when this song comes on. Perfect drum performance for the perfect instrumental Synthesizers-SubdivisionsWhat else!? Lyrics-BU2BFlame away but this one has the perfect amount of sarcasm and irony Edited September 18, 2013 by LeaveMyThingAlone

RushBoingo
I am not to sure on individual instrumentation, but for multitasking with Geddy, I am pretty sure that The Big Money and Xanadu are the two big winners, both are hard, and require 4/5 different instruments. Dscrapre
I think that La Villa Strangiato from Time Machine is basically the best performance I've heard from them. Bar none.

LeaveMyThingAlone
Red Barchetta is a definite top 5 for me for Alex. It looks like that one and la villa dominate for guitar and yyz for bass. Based on the replies, "old rush good, new rush bad". Leave that thing alone is their best instrumental for me

coventry
Vocals: "Headlong Flight" - doing that at his age is simply incredible. You'd expect it from a 25-year old; not a 60 year old. Bass: I loathe the song, but "Driven" has monster bass on it; as does "Circumstances" - especially in the verses Keys: "Subdivisions" Guitar: 3-way tie: "La Villa"; the prelude/intro to "Xanadu"; and, oddly enough, "Kid Gloves". Why the latter? because no one had ever played a solo like that before. Drums: "Tom Sawyer" - the perfect blend of metronome and flash; time-keeping and musicianship.
