ReRushed
I love seminal American rock bands: The Velvet Underground, the Stooges, New York Dolls, Big Star, etc. And now Death. How did I miss these guys? Apparently, in 1975, they were half way through recording their debut album when the record label dropped them. Only seven songs were recorded. Why did the record label drop them? They wouldn't change their name. Oh, yeah, they're three black guys from Detroit. They were rock and roll. They were punk. They were great. ReRushed
I watched A Band Called Death last night and it was great. It's an amazing story. In some ways it reminded me of the Anvil documentary, in that dedication to music, family and friends can be truly inspiring. Sometimes, the music really does matter. It's nice to know there are good people in the world.
