speaking of Jackson, he is suing the movie studio behind LOTR trilogy..imagined being underpaid 100 million bucks!

If he proves what he has claimed, Jackson will get millions... as it should be.

King Kong Trailer

Wow.

DAMN THAT LOOKS GOOD!!!

It sure does. Loaded with great Peter Jackson shots.

I do have a question, though....where did the dinosaurs come from? How will they explain their existence without ripping off Jurassic Park? Why do we need to see Kong competing with other huge monsters? Won't that take away from the hugeness of Kong, which is supposed to be the point of the story?

Weren't there dinosaurs in the original? I thought there were.

I don't remember the original. I don't think there were dinos in the 1976 remake. Anybody know?

Yeah, there were dinos in the original. A T-Rex, a Brontosaurus, and a Pterodactyl. I remember in the remake that there was a giant snake.

Then I can accept them in the new version. Do you remember how they explained the dinos' existence? A giant ape (or snake) is easily explained since apes and snakes aren't extinct. And yes, I know it's science fiction and that I'm nitpicking, but I'm just curious.

The only thing I can think of is that Skull Mountain Island is something of a 'land that time forgot', as it were. I read the original 'King Kong' novel, but it was about 27 years ago and I don't remember it very well.

It was Peter Jackson's dream to remake the 1933 original hence the dinos....the '76 remake was CRAPOLA 062802puke_prv.gif (though the use of the WTC instead of the Empire State Building now draws a personal nostalgic view considering 9/11)

Andy Serkis (Gollum i LOTR) plays King Kong in this one! ohmy.gif

Happy belated 85th birthday to Ray Harryhausen (June 29) who did the models for King Kong as well as the dinos in the original as well as other models for classics flicks like Jason and the Argonauts, Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, Valley of Gwangi and others...
