  1. for a lot of people it's just an obsession with gore and excitement. i had a couple of people tell me Saw II is better than the first just because it has more people, goes more places, and has more death. but while i do get entertainment from that stuff, and really did enjoy Saw II and III, I found the first one to be much better. the main appeal for the first one is not because of exciting deaths and gore, it's because it's just an overall great film. It's driven more by drama and emotions and stuff than gore, and i just loved it. It's got some great suspense too, and is just overall an excellent thriller. you should really check the series out, the second two may not do much for you but the original might actually impress you.
  2. It's probably not gonna be as good as any of the first three but i'll still wanna see it just cuz i'm fond of this series and they entertain me. that Repo thing sounds kinda dumb though. but maybe it'll surprise us and be good.
  3. i love brad pitt, and i actually loved troy. i'll definitely be buying the extended cut when it comes out. i might wait for the price to come down a little though lol.
  4. I saw #3 last weekend, and i really liked it. it still didn't top the original, but there's no way i could expect it to. but i think i enjoyed it more than the second one. it was definitely a lot gorier than either of the first two, it actually made me flinch a little lol but i could still handle it pretty easily. even though i have more respect for a movie with a great storyline and awesome drama and stuff, like the first one, i still really like gore-fest type movies so even though it's still not gonna be anywhere near as amazing as the 1st on, i can't wait till #4 comes out just cuz i think these movies are really cool.
  5. only Burton/Depp film i haven't seen i do believe. i'll have to check it out. so is it about a real person? i didn't know Ed Wood was a real person. although i really don't know ANYTHING about the movie at all other than it's burton and depp lol.
  6. i like Aaron Ekhart so if that's true it oughta be cool. i haven't even batman begins though lol i've been meaning to rent it cuz i keep hearing that it was awesome and i wanna be up to speed when the dark knight comes out.
  7. Me too. It might just end up being average all the way through like the show, but hopefully they'll really put it in a good effort to make it as great as the classic episodes. either way i still can't wait to see it.
  8. i put that it's one of my favorite shows with regards to the older episodes. the new ones aren't nearly as good but for a while the simpsons just plain ruled. can't wait to see the movie.
  9. this looks like it'll be cool. i duno it seems like it could also be really cheesy and stupid but still, there's a chance it may be cool as hell.
  10. i duno why but i just think it's hilarious, not even that dated. i guess it's just cuz wayne's attitude is so much like mine. i find that kind of stupid humor, like the jokes he's always making, to be hilarious.
  11. it's one of my favorite movies lol. "...we fear change! (hand moves) BANG BANG BANG BANG!" lol so funny. i would probably say that's about my favorite comedy.
  12. i honestly don't think it's that bad to say the word when quoting a film, but still i think the rules should be respected. i chose pulp fiction, but i was really hoping for the choice of "none because you don't even know how to spell Quentin Tarantino's name" I kid.
  13. i thought it looked interesting, but didn't watch it. i hardly ever watch tv anymore, i think it would be pretty much impossible to watch something regularly so i most likely will not be getting into this show lol but i might check out an episode or two here and there.
  14. 12 angry men is one i definitely wanna see.
  15. no it's not one of those double sided ones. i could probably just return it but my step-mom said something about how they might like ALL be mixed up, like the full-screen ones would all be widescreen and the widescreen ones would all be full screen. she may be full of crap but that's a possibility. so now i'm thinking if i return it, i duno whether to get one that's widescreen and hope just mine was messed up, or get a full screen one and see if she was right. which is why i was hoping to see if anyone else bought this dvd and had the same problem i've got.
  16. ok i got the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Director's Cut DVD for christmas, and i just watched it. great movie and all, i loved it just as much as the first time i saw it, but for some reason it was in Full Screen. i got the widescreen version. it says so on the box, AND on the disc even, but when i watched it there was no question, it was full screen. does anyone else have a widescreen version of this that ended up being full screen? like did it happen to all of them? or am i just unlucky? cuz i really prefer widescreen over full screen, and this ticks me off cuz i duno if they'll let me return it. i'm pretty sure most stores won't let you return cds after you've opened them, so i wouldn't be surprised if it was the same with dvd's, and even if i could return it, i'd be worried i'd get full screen again.
  17. actually Kurt Russel is in death proof. but anyway, i've been waiting for this for ages! and i can't believe it's still not coming out till april. but it'll be worth the damn wait! the trailor was nothing like i expected, although when i watched it i found myself going "yep, this is DEFINITELY rodriguez and tarantino" lol. and it looks awesome. looks like planet terror's got some wicked action scenes. i think the gun-leg thing looks kinda stupid but i'm optimistic that she'll make up for how it looks by kicking ass with it. and i'm even more excited for tarantino's segment, Death Proof, cuz while i quite like RR, i would say i'm a considerably BIGGER fan of Quentin Tarantino. and by that i mean he's pretty much my all time favorite director. so i cannot effing wait. but one thing i'm worried about is, does anyone know how the hell long this film will be? i heard a rumor that both director's went overboard and their movies are both over 2 hours. are we really in for a 4 and a half hour shin-dig here? or longer after the fake commercials? cuz i really wouldn't mind sitting through it that long if both segments are awesome, but those theater seats better be comfortable as hell lol.
  18. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Dec 19 2006, 08:06 PM) QUOTE (Freedom_Fighter @ Dec 19 2006, 07:37 PM) thanks for the recommendations guys. i definitely plan to pay special attention to classic horror movies like hitchcock and the monster movies. i've seen the original godzilla and the original mummy, and now i need to see the original king kong, as well as dracula and frankenstein and whatever else there is. and i'll sure check out some of these others you guys are recommending. the only problem is i duno how i'll get ahold of these, i duno if i can rent 'em out at video stores since they're so old. Also check out 'The Creature From The Black Lagoon'. That one's my favorite. oh yea my friend jordan also says that's his favorite, i'll hafta check it out. thanks for the recommendations lerxt.

  20. alright, i've decided as huge of a movie buff as I am, i am not familiar with nearly enough of the really old classics, like the black and white stuff from like the 30's on up, and maybe even earlier. i've decided i really wanna start watching a bunch of old movies, that is, if i can get my hands on them. i already know that these are ones that i have to see: Psycho Citizen Kane The Manchurian Candidate Casablanca i'm sure i could think of some others that i've heard of but those are the main ones i'm thinking of now. what are some other must see black and whites that you guys could recommend me? i'm also up for recommendations on some of the earlier color movies, like 60's or even earlier 70's, cuz i haven't seen as many of those as i'd like to have seen either.
  21. you gotta like people's usage of repetition in their sentences. "Hopefully 4 will be better I hope." although sequels usually aren't as good though..... no offense man, i'm just givin ya crap lol.
  22. while i think the first one is quite a bit better than the other two, i would still say that i love all three movies, and even though i'm not really optimistic that this one will be very good i will still see it with some fairly high hopes just because it's die hard.
  23. Treeduck: is that pacino screenshot from Heat? i effing love that movie! that's another must see.
  24. yea i agree, indie movies rule.
