I got a call from one of my buddies today who has seen thousands of shows.

He informed me that nothing of late really interests him except for the upcoming Yes show.

It's at the intimate Warfield in San Francisco.

I really didn't give a shit because I saw Styx, Yes and Kansas a few summers ago.

Kansas and Styx were fuckking great. Yes sucked with their new lame ass white suit fairy singer.

The band was good though. However Wendy and I had fifth row right in front of Chris Squire.

Chris was wearing transparent black spandex that night. We could see his cock and balls. His twig and berries. His man stem and nuts.

It was actually quite disgusting.

I pledged to my wife that I would never ever see YES again. Steve Howe looked like a fukking confused skinny praying mantis zombie on the guitar that night. His solos were completely bizarre and out in left field.

Saying that though my buddy told me that they fired that Tinkerbell singer in the white jumpsuit and hired a new singer who is actually better.

Not sure about that but I don't care.

They are playing "The Yes Album" "Closer To The Edge" and "Going For The One."

I don't give a shit if Pee Wee Herman sings, I'm going!!

A small venue with a BIG setlist! I can't wait!!!!!

Have any of you heard the new singer? Is he any good?

LMK!

I know alot here did not like Benoit David, but I truly did not mind him, and thought he did the best he could... and I still recommend his other band "Mystery" to anyone... he was good, but not really there to step into Anderson's shoes..

From the little I've seen though I say Jon Davison is a major step up though... still not Anderson...but an improvement nonetheless....and I have to recommend his other band "Glass Hammer" as well.

Probably going to see them but the venue has a stupid time restriction so they won't play Going For The One.

That's horrible!!! No "Awaken?" That would BLOW!

Perhaps they will play earlier at that venue!

The venue says that they are playing The Yes Album and Close to the Edge, so I doubt it. I saw The Allman Brothers Band there and they also played a shorter set. Sucks since GFTO is one of my favorites.

Damn! That really does suck!!! Is it an 11 pm curfew?

My favorite outdoor venue locally is The Greek in Berkeley. All bands must end their show at 11. Anything after that the band will be charged per minute! Crazy!

I think its 10 or 10:30 since all their shows seem to start at 8. I know places Radio City Music Hall has a curfew and they charge the bands a ton of money for every minute (apparently Dream Theater got charged thousands when they were recording Score) but I didn't think a casino would.

That sucks! 10 or 10:30? A Casino doesn't care about the act or the time limit! They want to get you into the show and then out as fast as they can so the crowd will start gambling!

I used to go up to Cache Creek to see Y&T play every December. It's an awesome Indian Casino, but Y&T always had to play a short set and be done by 10:00 pm. The concerts are usually free if it's an Indian Casino. All you have to do is sign up for one of their player cards and you can get into the show for free.

Not sure if this is what you have!

It will still be incredible to see the "Yes Album" and "Closer To The Edge."

Call me a fool but no matter how many times I've listened to "Going For The One" I've never truly fallen in love with the record.

The album cover clearly rips off "Hemispheres!" LOL!

Not a fan of Going for the One either :)

And Going for the One (1977) came before Hemispheres (1978) :P

Its not a free show, which pisses me off even more since I want to pay for a full show but I'll still go. The other casino in Connecticut, Mohegan Sun, has a free venue but I'm not sure if they have a time limit. They get some pretty good shows (Blue Oyster Cult plays regularly) but I can't go since its 21+.

I didn't think of the gambling thing. That makes since since there's slot machines right near the theater. The earlier the show gets out, the more gambling and drinking.

Yep! It's smarketing! The more you drink the more you gamble! Just wait until you turn 21 young man! I thought you were older than 21 since you are so wise in your musical tastes!

Blue Oyster Cult frigging RULES! They always put on a top notch show!

I don't blame you for being frustrated. You pay for a ticket you expect a full show! Lame!

Good luck if you go!

Reason for getting rid of other singer??

I gave up on YES a few years ago, but they were always my #2 band.

Hate to be the party pooper, but without Jon Anderson I just can't get excited over this.

yes tickets are pretty damn cheap so the new singer's definitely worth the 19 dollars spent on yes tickets back in july

Wasn't going to see them when they came to NZ for the first time last year as Jon Anderson wasn't there and I'd never heard of Jon Davidson. Changed my mind and went, brilliant, thought Jon Davidson did really well, was a great show.

so who's all in the band now? Howe and Squire plus that Yes tribute singer right? what about drums and keys?

I would LOVE to see 'yours is no disgrace' live among other tunes but only if they can do a good job of it... and certainly not if it means I gotta see Chris Squire's whammy bar, yuk!

I'm pretty sure Alan White is still on drums and Geoff Downes is on keys, which I really like because I LOVE the Drama/Fly From Here eras of Yes.

Me and the wife are going to the Lousiville show. Just purchased tickets. :D

The Yes Album, Close to the Edge, and Going for the One...wow. Can NOT pass that up. I am slightly disappointed no Fly From Here material will be included. I missed that tour. Oh well

My wife and I had 5th row center for Styx, Yes and Kansas. Squire was standing right in front of us during the entire Yes show. I couldn't believe that old man was wearing black spandex. You could see his cock and balls! It was quite annoying.Even Wendy didn't think it was a pleasant sight.
