Radiohead is the best currently-active band in the world. They are our generation's Beatles, Pink Floyd, and U2 all at once. What else do you have of theirs? Radiohead is the best currently-active band in the world. They are our generation's Beatles, Pink Floyd, and U2 all at once. What else do you have of theirs? Rush and Marillion are still active. Nothing will ever replicate the shockwave that The Beatles made in the music world. I think it's safe to compare Radiohead to U2 and possibly even Pink Floyd, but The Beatles? Not quite. I tried to become a Radiohead fan but their songs got old REAL QUICK! Pablo Honey I detested immensely then The Bends I didn't like as well. OK Computer I liked alot but then the record store I worked at in Boston, my ex-colleagues burned that album out as well as Kid A and by the time Amnesiac rolled around, I started to lose interest in Radiohead and went back to Dire Straits. Hail to the Thief just s*cked and if I was forced to listen to either St Anger by Metallica or HttT, I apologize but I'll play St Anger as much as the production and mastering on that album s*cked! Radiohead are far from this generation's Pink Floyd, they are more like what happened when The Cure, U2 and The Beatles got together.
Kudzu
For better or for worse, Radiohead fits that Pink Floyd mold of being all artsy and way out there but maintaining a devoted following and creeping (no pun intended) over into the mainstream occasionally, exerting an influence on mainstream bands as well. I'm not a big fan either, but my girlfriend is. I bought her Kid A last weekend, actually...
