What a fantastic album. How they could have gone from something that great to something as shitty as their last two albums in under a decade is beyond me. This is my first, proper foray into the world of U2. And from what i've heard on radio or live stuff of the last two albums, this makes them look completely bland. Might I recommend Zooropa and Pop...a lot of people don't like these albums, but they are among their best work, they're a lot in the Achtung vein, more electronic and experimental than their more famous work. The ZooTV tour DVD is class as well.

Rush!
Hopefully I can get out to Best Buy this weekend, (if not, as soon as I can), and buy The Mars Volta's "Frances The Mute" (finally) and "Scabdates". I also will look for The Decemberists' "The Crane Wife".

PuppetKing2112
QUOTE (Mandalorian Hunter @ Jan 19 2007, 01:08 PM) My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade This one is good. I sort of had the same reaction to it that I did when American Idiot came out, sort of a "woah, Green Day writing nine-minute epics? I'm pleasantly surprised..." type of deal. The Black Parade is good.

The Black Parade is good. I was suprised by it. I only got it because of the hype it got on here, about it being more epic than emo. I like the way the guitars, drums and vocals have got much bigger, but the lyrics have stayed emotional. It's a must have album.

treeduck
QUOTE (PuppetKing2112 @ Jan 20 2007, 05:45 PM) Today I found a DECENT used copy of Alex's Victor album for $8.50. What do you make of it then? I'm not big on the vocals, they're kind of hard to listen to... Strip and go naked is good, Shut up shuttin up is funny, Mr X is pretty good, victor is atmospheric and interesting. The Geddy impersonation on Star Today is weird but you can tell who it's supposed to be but funnily enough even though it's a woman singing it it sounds like a guy...hmmmm weird. For Edwin spoils the album, I just don't like his voice, the production's a bit flat too... Edited January 20, 2007 by treeduck

Mandalorian Hunter
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge These guys have really suprised me. I ditched the preconceived ideas of them being Emo, and just listened, and they really are good.
