I just got a second copy of the new Decemberists album, directly from Capitol Records along with the band's press kit. I am now officially a part of the music press.

And I am going to interview their keyboaradist, Jenny Conlee, on monday.

That's awesome. I know a few people who are really big fans.

Well, I'll be sure to post my interview here, so you can show it to them.

And you should check out their new album if you haven't...it's the best album of 2006 so far IMO.

I'm going to borrow it from one of said individuals. What I've heard, I have enjoyed.

Yesterday I bought An Evening With John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess. It is the only "side project" CD I own and it's so awesome. They both go totally insane. Rudess stays on piano the whole time and Petrucci is usually on acoustic guitar, but he does change to electric a few times.

Thats a great one there! I would highly recommend either of the Liquid Tension Experiment discs. The song "State of Grace" is from the first LTE disc.

Filled a couple of holes today in my Kate Bush collection when I saw The Dreaming and The Sensual World used for $5 each in perfect condition.

And I also picked up Jeff Buckley's live album "Mystery White Boy," which was recorded in 95 and 96 but released in 2000.

The Open Door by Evanescence.

I was only ever exposed to the singles from their first album, and thought they were good.

This new album however is a lot darker and i absolutely love it cool.gif

Amy Lee is quite a talent indeed.

In Absentia - Porcupine Tree

XM - Porcupine Tree

Synchestra - Devin Townsend

10,000 Days - Tool

OSI - Office of Strategic Influence (special edition)

I get many suggestions for Prog Rock off of the Prog Archives Forum. Lots of Rush fans there.
