Nice!

I see your new Baroness album vinyl there too. Did you hear about the crash?

Yeah, that sucks. I read this on Facebook:

"John Baizley has broken his left arm and left leg. Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni each suffered fractured vertebrae. All three remain in the hospital as of this writing. Pete Adams has been treated and released from the hospital.

Three of the five crew members who were on the bus have also been treated and released. One member is still undergoing testing. The driver of the bus remains in critical condition."

Hope they make a speedy recovery.

Aye, let's hope so...

I did a thread about the crash actually but not many seemed to notice. The thread crashed and burned like the Baroness bus...

My fav song is True American Hate and I think the album is better than the last one Edited by metaldad

I like the last one a lot but Dark Roots is better. The album is the heavy metal equivalent of getting punched in the face for 50 mins straight. Every time i've listened to this album my reaction is the same when it's done, I always think to myself "damn what the f**k did I just hear?"

Yes, I think the album is that good 1022.gif

I'd say it's better than TFoD too, and I thought that album was great. Testament, Exodus, and Overkill have really made some of their best shit in the last few years.

The title track is so good. Anyone else get a Black Sabbath/Alice in Chains vibe from it?

I never thought about that until you mentioned it. I kind of know what you're talking about but Sabbath nor AIC have come to mind at all while listening to it.

What has come to mind though is that it is damn good Testament song 1022.gif

got tickets for Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel at the end of Sept....

Awesome show!!

I saw it when it came here last november. Anthrax will play the same old crap because they're the laziest band i've ever seen when it comes to making setlists. Still, they put on a good enough show that you don't mind that too much once the concert is done.

The big difference this time around will be that Testament has a new album out so I expect some changes in their set. I saw some of the setlists they were playing over in Europe recently and they're doing the first four songs off the new album, so that will be great for you to hear.

yes, looking forward to it. Not a huge Anthrax fan, so what they play doesn't matter a whole lot. Testament however.... 1022.gif

I don't know how the crowd will be at your show but the pits weren't that bad for Testament. However, if you stay for Anthrax you should know that there are a few songs in their set where the whole floor becomes a huge circle pit. Not everyone is into that so I figured I would let you know just in case.

Ok after a good few listens I'm ready to speak out!

I would say this is a little better than their previous one. The compositions are a little more complex, there's a little more variety too. The guitar solos are generally a little more impressive as well and the production of the guitars is much sharper. I really like the drums on this album too, courtesy of Gene Hoglan.

The cover bonus songs are all nicely done and sound good. They really have been Testamentised too! They work very well and actually add something to the album, unlike with most albums that tack on a few cover songs.

All in all an excellent slab of metal!
