Most of these are catchphrases... a lot of them are ingrained in popular culture - memes - but "you can't handle the truth" was not that character's catchphrase (though it was a hell of a line with a killer delivery).

Someone mentioned Flav's "Yeah, boy!" as a catchphrase, and it totally is... along with Ricky's "You got some 'splainin' to do!" and Lucy's "Awww Ricky!" for example.

One-liner (we're gonna need a bigger boat - Brody) vs catchphrase (Sit on it - Ritchie).

But the posts are still fun.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh - The Fonz

And "Whoah!".

Three good ones from that show.

BTW, a couple of weeks ago my 8th and 9th graders told me they had no idea who Fonzi was. I told them that if we worked hard and were able to accomplish everything ahead of schedule that I would show them. THey got things done, so I filled the cultural void. I also used it as an opportunity to talk about modern "idioms", specifically "jump the shark".

Always educating... biggrin.gif
