I know this sounds awful, but I'd rather stick myself in a freezer... Well at least you'll be nearer to the ice cream...

Even for a free concert they sucked! Dear God. Survivor & Starship. At the one gig. We built this shitty.

Picture Moving
Survivor were excellent up until Too Hot To Sleep then generally down hill from there. They were slightly rockier with Dave Bickler on vocals between the S/T debut and Caught In The Game album then a change of vocals with the wonderful Jimi Jamison and a more keyboards orientated sound, starting with the absolute classic Vital Signs and then When Seconds Count, finally a different sound again on Too Hot To Sleep. I think they are great but don`t like hearing their super hit anymore as it`s been overplayed beyond belief. Rock Candy Remasters are .... S/T Premonition Caught In The Game Vital Signs When Seconds Count Too Hot To Sleep Eye Of The Tiger has not been reissued through Rock Candy, not sure why though? Rush Cocky
More like The Band That Metal Never Knew. They remind me a lot of Saga.

They probably couldn't get the license from whoever owns it because it makes too much money because of the famous title song.
TheAccountant
I would not say they have been overlooked. They gave their place in history, mostly as a footnote to the better bands / metal that dominated the 80's. That being said, I still do have their Eye of the Tiger and Vital Signs records (note - I said records, not CD's) and every once in a (very) rare while they do get pulled out and listened to. So, yes, I gues I do have a (very small) soft spot for them.

TheAccountant
QUOTE (treeduck @ Jan 9 2012, 08:20 PM)Wow one of my old threads has come back to haunt me! uh - Sorry if I caused any red faces!! Actually thought it was sort of an interesting topic. Hence my chiming in. Hey, it might have been stranger / worse - like when my boss and I recently got talking about the one (that we were aware of anyway) album by GTR. None of the 20 somethings in the office had any idea what we were talking about. By the way, as a new guy on The Rush Forum, let me just say - what a great place. Sooo happy I found it.

invisible airwave
Eye of the Tiger is alright but I prefer No Easy Way Out by Tepper from Rocky IV when it comes to Rocky songs.
