I think it's a ballsy move that Nolan decided to include bane. The last time he appeared in a batman movie, he nearly earned the title of worst character ever. Nolan did a decent job with Batman Begins and blew my mind three times over with The Dark Knight. I'm still looking forward to this.

Bane's a murderer whose strength is enhanced through experimental drugs. I think it's easier to fit that into a Nolan-type real world Bat film than it would be the Riddler or Mr.Freeze for example.

He should do The Penguin, with Danny DeVito again. He did a good job playing Penguin in Batman Returns. Anyway I think Bane will be interesting to say the least. Are they still having a CGI Heath Ledger for a cameo as Joker?

No Heath cameo.

I like Devito fine but that black-tar drooling bastardized mutant version bore no resemblance to the Penguin.

I remember reading about the rumor that Philip Seymour Hoffman was going to play The Penguin as an arms dealer. Nice rumor.

Apparently, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's casting in The Dark Knight Rises started some rumors about The Joker:

Not bad, eh?

Gordon-Levitt is another Nolan alumni ("Inception"), and Nolan loves casting actors he's worked with before. So it's not shocking to see him (and "Inception's" Tom Hardy) in this film.

However, with THAT makeup on, could Gordon-Levitt pass for Ledger's Joker? He might. But that would go against the cast listing on imdb.

He's not playing The Joker, Nolan is on record as saying The Joker is not in the movie. Gordon-Levitt's casting simply got some Batfans drooling with the possibility. Anyway, I do think he can pull of the look of The Joker.

I do have a wish for the ending of The Dark Knight Rises - I think it should have the same ending as Batman Begins. Think about it. It would kick-ass.

Interesting.

Given that cast list I can imagine them linking Joe Chill (the guy that gunned down Bruce's parents in the film & comic) to a certain rumored returning cast member. i.e. in the comics, Chill didn't just randomly kill the Waynes. It was a contract killing by some mob boss. For the trilogy I can see it being written where it wasn't a mob boss but that rumored returning cast member. Though not THE main theme of Dark Knight Rising, I can see this hired killing as being a shocking revelation that Bruce must deal with. Just an idea. cool10.gif

With the Joker gone, Harley Quinn should be in this one.

They should leave Catwoman alone... I'm sorry but Michelle Pfeiffer was the only good Catwoman. Honestly she's holding up pretty good these days.. Nolan should have asked her to reprise the role.

Now that I've seen it's fricken Anne Hathaway... I'm not as excited as I originally was for this.

As hot as Pfeiffer still is, she's too old for a young Batman. Nolan's smart enough to leave those 90s Batman films (and actors who played characters in them) alone.

Imho, too many Joker comparisons (and complaints) would be made if Harley Quinn were in there.

Anne Hathaway...not sure about her. But I'm thinking it'd take someone of Keanu Reeves-caliber acting skills to f**k up a well-written Bat story. Anne's not that bad.

I think it's a ballsy move that Nolan decided to include bane. The last time he appeared in a batman movie, he nearly earned the title of worst character ever.

The fact that this time they've actually cast an actor in the role, as apposed to a wrestler, is a good sign

If what I read is accurate, Bane's role is going to make a lot of sense in the movie.
