D3strukt
I used to hate EVERY song, except Nocturne, which I recently began liking. So, yeah. I can't stop listening to this album. It is just so brilliant its not even funny. Definitely a top 5 album. I have also stopped worrying about production (it sounds better with REAL headphones, the kind that cover your ears.) it is what it is. Makes it much more enjoyable to listen to. Highlights are: "The Stars Look Down, How it Is, and Vapor Trail." I still hate OOTC though, but I'm sure it will grow on me as well. Anyways, I give it a 9 out of 10! New World Kid
It's my favorite album in the Rush collection. I think what benefited me is that Vapor Trails was about the 5th Rush album i ever heard. As such, I wasn't stuck in any "ruts" about what Rush "should" sound like.
rocketom
not a bad cd, still one of Rush's worst.

apetersvt
It does have a little more 'heaviness' to it then the previous few albums. It's a good attempt. This album (correct me if I'm wrong) marks the return of Lerxst to primarily Les Paul's which is a great move. It needs more guitar solos though. I would place this album at around the #14 spot of Rush albums.

J2112YYZ
I've always liked the album a lot. Except for TSLD and OOTC, those are two of the biggest turds Rush has ever dropped on an album.

While Feedback is your undisputed #1. Amirite? Dork. Here is a scientifically calculated list of Rush albums from best to worst. 1. Hemispheres 2. Permanent Waves 3. Caress of Steel 4. 2112 5. A Farewell to Kings 6. Rush 7. Signals 8. Moving Pictures 9. Test For Echo 10. Fly By Night 10. Power Windows 12. Counterparts 13. Grace Under Pressure 13. Presto 15. Snakes and Arrows 16. Roll the Bones 17. Hold Your Fire 18. Vapour Trails Which gives credence to the point of view "Old Rush Good, New Rush Bad" and proves that Vapid Trials is an execrable excrescence. Mark_L
This album had just come out when I became a Rush fan... I liked it at the time, and still do. On this one, the heavier music + lyrical themes of loss and recovery make it a powerful statement... that's how it sounds to me anyway.

Rush Cocky
QUOTE (ozzy85 @ Jun 3 2011, 10:27 AM) Always liked VT. Haven't stopped liking it and likely won't. VT is one of those hybrid albums that has a few gems and a lot of filler IMO. GOOD: One Little Victory, Ghost Rider, Secret Touch, Earthshine, Nocturne, Sweet Miracle, Freeze BAD: Everything else, except.... UGLY: Out of the Cradle. Clearly "Vapor" (without the "u") If Rush wanted to spell it differently, they could have. They didn't. They knew exactly what they were doing. And they got it right, as they always do.
