I tried making mujaddara, a Western Asian rice and lentil dish, for the first time. I don’t like the recipe that I tried, so I’ll try this one next. I’ll probably make it weekly since it’s so cheap, easy, and filling. It has a whopping 14 grams of protein.

Rolled into my in-laws' place on the WA-Canada border.  They served up some BBQ pizza for supper tonight and it was pretty tasty, though  I was hoping for a break from carbs...

Mushroom soup and cabbage pierogis.

I luckily married into pierogis via my grandmother-in-law.  They eat them with canned tomatoes

In laws are serving up steak and salad*.  I hope it's a rib-eye.

* I talked them out of baked potatoes.  We had potato salad for lunch

Peposo and pasta,  from my neighbor who just got back from Italy.  Basically it's chuck roast slow cooked in chianti, peppercorns and salt, which of course makes it amazing tasting

PB&J on sesame seed Italian panini bread, watermelon chunks, and a glass of 2% milk.
