Another "don't like" is "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus". Usually because it's some adult pretending to sing it like a whiny kid. "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas" (mentioned already) is fun. Another favorite is "I'll Be Home For Christmas". Part of the reason I love it is the story behind it - it was written by a soldier on deployed on the Euro front in WWI. Embarassing story: I still remember singing that song or turning it WAY up on my walkman radio when it came on my junior year in high school. My favorites were the Ceremony of Carols (I sang second soprano, which was AWESOME. We were on the off beat, so lots of counting. It was just... wow. Makes me miss singing with a choir). And we hired a harpist and had a full choir for the non-women pieces. Oh man. If you have a good choir (which we were not stellar by any means), shuffle out the bucks to see Ceremony of Carols because it is amazing in its entirety. And... finally.... the best... Oh yeah, and I like Zooey Deschanel's cover of "Baby, it's cold outside." Otherwise I listen to very nontraditional Christmas music. And I despise anything by Mariah Carey. Her vocal nodules pain me.
