Merely Space
Haven't seen anyone mention this, but I absolutely loved the video they showed in the final part of the drum solo. The giant mechanical octopus drummer thing was sweet!

Yeah, that was pretty awesome how the octopus was hitting the beats exactly at the same time as Mr. Peart Edited July 25, 2010 by rush22112

cygnus_thegodofbalance
Everyone was so excited at the beginning of the solo. You could feel the electricity in the air. However, about 5 minutes in, everyone around me was just kind of staring off into space. It's a waste of time. Add 2 more songs in there in place of it, or incorporate it into a song ala YYZ. Merely Space
Love the solo and the big band ending. My favorite was One O'Clock Jump, but I enjoy them all.

shaun3701
His solos used to be awe-inspiring. Now they're kind of neat to watch, but you get bored after like 2 mins.

Rod in Toronto
QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jul 29 2010, 02:10 PM) His solos used to be awe-inspiring. Now they're kind of neat to watch, but you get bored after like 2 mins. I hate to admit it, but I kinda feel the same way. After Rush in Rio, I slowly started to lose interest in his solos. It's great to acknowledge how good a drummer Neil is, but why not replacing it with an incredibly challenging and busy song drum-wise, such as Red Lenses, Xanadu, Grand Designs etc etc? Whichever way, it's just a suggestion. If Neil decides he should play a 4 x 4 beat for 10 minutes, I'd be happy with it.
