  1. I too, like indoors for summer shows, you get the entire light show from the beginning and the weather is never a factor. Saw the Stones in Frisco a few years ago outside and thankfully, the notorius Bay Area weather was kind. very memorable event.
  2. I wouldn't know, I tend to stand pretty still and maybe bob my head a little. I always feel conspicuous playing air drums or air bass or air jordan..
  3. I guess we all think the same thing at some point: "I'd love to be famous!!!" but seriously, what a complete pain in the ass.. imagine it for a few minutes... don't think about when it would be easy and convienient-think about trying to spend time with your kids at the park, or enjoying a nice meal with your wife or close friends and people are constantly asking you for an autograph and being goofy because they're nervous. yeah, I'd love to be in a great band touring the world, but screw the fame thing...
  4. now I can finally have a bass amp in my living room. my wife would always scowl when I rolled in my GK rig for a little couch/TV/practice time...
  5. Wasn't aware Steampunk had anything to do with drums or rhythm...? or am I alone in this?
  6. "Those who can't do, teach. those who can't teach, teach gym. those who couldn't do anything at all, were all at my school.." -Woody Allen ..and those who couldn't get a job at that school, review RUSH concerts for a living.
  7. with the complaints of the song order, one should keep in mind that Geddy has to be carefull that he doesn't strain his voice...
  8. Portnoy seems like a cool guy.. actually, the only drummer I've met who was an ass was Carmine Appice
  9. yeah, but it was still night time when they shot RIR..
  10. Only thing about Red Rocks is it's outdoors. Most bands tend to film indoors, so they have the full effect of the lighting from the beginning to the end.
  11. Now that I can see it clearly, I get it: This machine is located under the riser and is actually playing the drums-not Neil. I KNEW NO HUMAN COULD PLAY THAT WELL!!!
  12. QUOTE (zappawizard @ Jun 29 2010, 02:24 PM) he's Neil Peart, he can wear whatever the hell he wants, just be glad it ain't a kimono!!!! no Kimono's and certainly no more cameltoes!
  13. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jun 29 2010, 02:31 PM) QUOTE (The Sphere @ Jun 29 2010, 02:27 PM) Working Mam Is this a new gender-bending version of the song? yes. and it also contains lyrics about the breast stroke...
  14. you know the conversation went something like this... DESIGNER: "Guys? Here's the new look, whaddayathink? ALEX: "Cooool..very steampunk!" NEIL: "Cooool..very Jules Verne!" ALEX: "Julie who?" NEIL: "Steam what?"
  15. too cool. given Neil's general adversity to touring, it's nice to see how much he gets into the presentation and the showmanship...
  16. Mara, try playing drums for three hours on a 100+ degree stage, you'll be very glad you have something to absorb the sweat!
  17. it's also got a lot of Jules Verne though, doesn't it? it also looks as if those green tubes and portals on the riser are lit up. very bad ass!
  18. ok, first and foremost, my humble apology to The Sphere. now I will buy you many beers, as you completely, totally and in all other ways ROCK! as far as the kit, a few people have said it looks smaller or he's got smaller sized toms, but it looks the same to me. The Steampunk look is amazing and it's probably the coolest looking kit he's ever had (all respects still paid to the classic Big Red kit of the 80's) I am really looking forward to seeing the complete stage set.
  19. Is it just me, or does it seem as though the boys have something special and a little different for this tour? The drums are obviously a not the same, the photos from Arrowsmith hint at some interesting things like the green tube, among other glimpses. I'm really looking forward to this one.
  20. "Not much different" uh, yeah, much different-he's kind enough to show us photos. The other guys are claiming they have "something" and show nothing. quite a difference, actually.
  21. See? THAT's what I'm talking about! Photos, great information! okay, I'll stay... as far as sarcasm, none was offered, I was merely saying that I don't want to deal with idiots saying they have something that they don't.
  22. I just joined this forum, hoping I could get some information on one of my favorite bands. Knowing the reputation of RUSH fans, I was expecting cool people, with knowledge and maybe insider photos, etc. What I've dicovered so far is a bunch of ass clowns who say they have information, but don't want to let us know about it. I don't get why people do this. First off, no one knows who you are, second, it's juvenile... so please, stop making with the bullshit and post what you've got. But, we all know you've got NOTHING, so there you go...
