These two made my night! wub.gif

That second pick looks like Alex may have hit a wrong note and Geddy is giving him that look.

Actually, I was yelling out something and waved and they both looked over at me. I snapped the pic right then! That made my night!

I haven't followed Rush too much the last few years, but watching the new documentary the other night on VH1 ignited something in me. I feel like a new fan all over again! I so wish they were playing in Arizona this tour.. I guess I'll just have to buy the DVD tommarow and watch it over and over! It will also be a blast to hear about your concert stories on this site!

Welcome to TRF From GOTRUSH in Phoenix.......

Great to have you on board ! I saw the 1979 show here in Phoenix @ Veterans Memorial.

I saw the 1980 tour when I was up in Reno, Nevada ( had tickets # 00001 & 00002 )

Those are great Pic's, very fitting for the "time machine"

Heading up to Vegas for the Aug 14th Show

My stomping ground here in Phoenix is Central & Indian School, where do you stomp ?

And Yes ( yes.gif ) this group is destined to be Huge ! trink39.gif

Hi GOTRUSH! Nice to meet another fan here in Phoenix.. My stomping grounds is around Ray Road and the I-10. We may have to meet up sometime and talk about the "good old days"! That's awesome you had the first 2 tickets for Reno! Did you have to camp out for the great tickets? I remember back in the late 70's spending the whole night in line at the box office to get good seats for concerts.

Only went an hour before tickets went on sale in Reno, those days tickets were only sold at the venue & I was 1st at the window & bought the 1st 8 tickets. My younger brother & our new Reno freinds all went. I got a good job offer back in AZ, Flagstaff & they wanted me right away to start, I told them I had to wait for the Rush concert some 3 weeks away. The job waited & me & my brother moved to Flagstaff the day after the Reno Rush show !!

I allways was the one to "camp" out for tickets & loved it, Hundreds of shows I did this for until it became ineffective. Hanging out with all the other die hard fans was a blast.

We surely will meet up at some point, but until then If you see this car . . . .

POST MORE. Dude, why didn't you join the board sooner? Great pics.

I'll have to scan some more in the next week or so and post them. Today is the first time I've ever seen the forum here! Wish I had found it a long time ago!

Awesome pics and stories.

Rush and rare records are my 2 favorite things in the world.Seeing Rush at a record show in 1975 would have blown my mind.Wow.

Yea.. if only I had a time machine and could go back to that day!!

I know how you feel Mike, I felt frustrated I hadn't discovered this place sooner either.

And those are fantastic pictures! Poster quality pics! That time is exactly when I discovered Rush so it will always hold a special place in my heart. wub.gif

I just found negatives I've had hid away for 30 years of the 1980 show. I forgot I had them! I'll scan some and post them later today.

Mike

hey Mike

what can I say - I love your pictures!

old Rush photos are a time capsule - the more we get to see, the better overall picture we have of those times (especially for those of us who weren't there)

btw - have you seen/been to Erik's site?

http://www.rushphotoarchive.com/concert/concert.html

your photos would be a significant inclusion and I'm sure Erik would be honored to archive them

thanks again for posting them (and keep them coming)! trink39.gif

Here is a few photos I promised, in black and white from the 1980 show in Detroit. I took these with a pretty long telephoto lens, sitting near the back of the arena. Hope you like! I'll have more later.
