I have to get back on the 690 to go home.Is that a 2 way highway?

a highway like any other interstate...with a stop light in front of the fairgrounds (for the bus shuttle from the upper lots). It's only out for the fair.

compared to the mess that the Thruway/I-90 is in Buffalo, it's pretty simple over here.

I wonder if the broke the record for attendance today like they were expecting to....I'll find out tomorrow when the attendance figures are printed in the newspaper.

How many ways are there out of the fair? More then 1 route?

Sorry for all the question just like to be prepared

they didn't make the record, still that's a lot of people.

anyway.

I'm not too sure about the upper lots, since I don't usually park up there (that is, maybe twice ever) but I think they lead right to 690.

The lower and middle lots, Which ever way you take out of them lead to 690 somehow.

In any event, there are troopers all over the place just outside of the fair (and signs)

The record attendance for today is 81,369, last year was 72,922 so it won't be too crowded (the only day with lower numbers is the first day, which is also a Thursday)

Should be a great show tonight although a little warm. I am bringing all three of my children (9, 12 and 14 yrs old). The older two saw them on the S&A tour. Had a request from the youngest to see them and found the best seats at the fair (first row section E in pre-sale). This is my third time this tour. Saw them in Camden and Seattle. The boys were more lively in Seattle with the temp at 62 than Camden in the 90s. Still a great show. Can't wait for the show to start tonight!

I'm headed out to the fair early today so if you see a girl w/ a blue sundress, black Rush tote and aviator sunglasses, say hi http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I'll go home after, put on the full Rush gear and be at the show. This is a process http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/yes.gif

I'll be there later. Car troubles you know (and really bad karma apparently)

In any event, I've got my Time Machine steampunk shirt on...and it's black and it's going to be hot...I knew I should have went with the platinum shirt.

enjoy the fair and show show everyone http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif

Everyone have a great time I am leaving at 2:30-3 dont know what time I will get there.

If you're a fast driver like me you can make the trip from Buffalo to Syracuse in a little over 2 hours. But that's only if you really fly http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Anyways i'm leaving in the next half hour or so. It's better to get there early in case something happens or parking is messed up.

Whoever said we would wish the chairs on the track weren't there? Holy hell, truer words have never been spoken. Each "row" had about 3 inches of room and the tiny plastic chairs were tied together! What a mess! Actually, the whole venue on the track was a mess. People crowding the aisles without tickets, obvs., hardly any security to control it. Damn good thing it was Rush or I would have left...

As for the show, GREAT sets as always! I was 11 "rows" (haha, using that terms loosely) back and the view was great. Showed the plate, my fiance kept telling me all night Geddy saw it and he did smile at me. Never threw me a shirt though! John Arrowsmith waved Hi as well http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Was hotter than hell, I sweated off 10 pounds, I swear!

More later, it's early and I have to go to work. BOOOOO!

http://blog.syracuse.com/entertainment/201..._fans_to_r.html Review funny they say 12,000 were there people are saying it was more like 15-17,000. Well me and my brother had a great time even though we were 1st row in the grandstand and people of course kept walking by.But we had a cool security guard who if someone decided standing by the railing was a great view he booted them out told them to keep moving. They still were good seats I was surprised. As for the show it was great but for a few things .Enough with the semi funny opening and intermission videos. We get it you guys don't take yourselves as serious as people think. The rearrangements of 2112 and Working Man didn't care to much for it. And a big thanks to iluvgeddy05 and Chyrsalli for all the help with directions and the fair!

You should have tossed a security person down our "aisle" which became general admission after a while http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wacko.gif

Even though it was hotter than a dutch oven, I had a great time. Full view of the stage and a new vantage point for me. All told, it was a great way to spend my 14th show. Can't wait for no. 15. C'mon Clockwork Angels!

My 8th time seeing Rush and this was the best of them all. My brother and I were in the front row on Alex's side. It was truly amazing to see them that up close. Especially watching Alex play and seeing what he really does with the guitar. I didn't have a problem with seeing Neil at all. Some said that because of how high the stage was that I might but that was not the case. I wish Geddy had come over to our side a little more often but I get why he didn't. His home base is always to the left of Neil.

Alex was having a great time and doing his usual funny faces and smiles and everything. He made good eye contact with everyone in the front row numerous times. There was a family next to me with like a 5 year old kid with them and it was his first concert ever. Too bad he's so young though, by the time he grows up the show will be nothing but a blur in his memory. Alex tossed him a pick at the end of the first set. Before the second set began the young lady who was operating the camera in front of the stage, I forget her name I wanna say it was Wendy, gave the kid two drum sticks http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif I asked the kid if he wants to be a drummer now and he said "yeah, I'm gonna take Neils drum set home with me." http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Alex seemed to have problems hearing himself as he motioned to the side of the stage a number of times to turn it up. He messed around with his ear piece a few times as well. Other than that there was nothing out of the ordinary and everything sounded great to me.

Holy crap was it hot. This was the first time at this fair for my brother and I and we really had no idea where were headed at all. We parked way back in the lot and had to walk what seemed like a mile to get to the fair entrance. Then once we got into the fair it was like a Legend Of Zelda quest to find our way to the very back of the fair where the venue was. Luckily we ran into a few other Rush fans and they kind of told us where to go. Damn that place is big. At least I got a good workout from it.

I'm not sure where that reviewer is getting 12,000 from? When I looked back it was nothing but people from the floor all the way up to the top row of the grandstand. 18,000 or better would be my estimate. Security came buy and gave everyone in the first row yellow wrist bands so they knew who was supposed to be there and who wasn't. After the first set my brother and I sat down for a few minutes and wouldn't you know it two jackasses who didn't have wrist bands walked up and stood right where we were standing. My brother went to tell the security guard and she said she noticed them and she got rid of them before the second half started. So, at least where I was security seemed on top of things.

Wow, I didn't realize I was gonna write that much. I should've created my own separate review thread http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

The place holds 17,000, I bet on 16,000.

The fair got Aerosmith this year, paying them a cool $1M to play and only 9,000 went. So it would look bad to them (not us) if every other act sold out or near sold out but didn't get paid nearly as much.

Oh, well i'm only a thousand or so off. Still if it wasn't sold out by show time it was close to it from what I saw.

I'm not surprised they got more people than Aerosmith. Last summer all the guys were getting injured or sick and then Steven Tyler feel off the stage at one show. They cancelled a number of dates to. Their trust with the fans has been broken by that. But the trust Rush has with the fans has yet to be.

Fantastic show !

I was in the fourth row track on Geddy's side. Same problems over there with a complete lack of security. Clearly, security and ushering went to the lowest bidder this year.

Mattered less because the band was so on. Just "off the hook" good.

My daughter caught one of the t-shirts Geddy threw !! She's very excited.

Good question about the fire, or lack thereof. I remember there being alot more at SPAC. I know The Fair allows it, because Motley Crue had more fire than KISS in their show a couple of years ago. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/confused13.gif

Maybe the lack of fire had to do with how the bands stage setup was in relation to how it fit into the venues stage. Every venue has different stages and every band has a different setup. There probably wasn't a way to set the fire up and make it safe for everyone is what i'm guessing.

I have a beef with Ged right now because I stood up on my chair, plate in hand, to get a shirt and he didn't even look my way http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/new_thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/dazed025.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif And he *knew* I was there, believe me!
