It's going to be a great trip! Snorkling, Mayan ruins, all food & drink included, golf. Sounds great right? Got to get online and hear the new songs while I was there. Very exciting indeed! I'm soooo ready for this next trip to....VEGAS!!! By the way, most of the locals in Mexico not only knew of Rush but were big fans too. They even played some Rush at the pool 2 of the days I was there. Pretty cool! Looking at getting in on Friday (skipping the Irvine show) so if any of you Rush nuts are in town on Friday night hopefully we can meet up. They have completely remodeled one tower so far. It's the "Paradise Tower". The new rooms are beautiful and receiving rave reviews. But the big news is they are doing a great deal right now. It's called the "Summer in Paradise" package. The new rooms are going for $49 on the weekdays plus your 3rd night is free! Friday/Saturday night's are a bit high at $119 but there are other goodies to consider. Early check in/late check out (1pm), VIP check in, 2 for 1 show tickets, a "Fun Book" with lots of food & drink deals, free slot play, reserved pool seating and more. It really is a great deal! Plus they have this girl, Nicole Marshall, "Guest Experience Specialist", that is just great at setting things up. She even waived the $7.99/day resort fees for me! So I ended up with a 6 night stay in a great brand new room, right in the middle of it all, for only $392. That's an average of $65 a night with Fri. & Sat. included. Not bad folks! Hell, it's gonna cost me more than that just to fly there! That's only $100 more than the same 6 night stay at Hooters, in a noisy, older and probably dirty room (according to some reviews, I've never stayed there.) And, well, it's Hooters. A hundred bucks more for 6 nights? 16 bucks more per night? It's a no brainer! Anyway, I have been doing a LOT of research...TOO MUCH, so I just thought I'd pass this info along. The Tropicana is not the same old, smelly, run down Tropicana! And the prices are still pretty good too. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor. You'll see. Yes, they still have cheaper/older rooms at the Trop., for now. And yes, it's cheaper at Hooters. But this is a pretty dam good deal my friends! Going to drop my three nights at MGM for 2 nights at Tropicana for less money than I already have deposited at MGM, see PT Friday, Rush and Primus Saturday, fly home Sunday, and see if I'm still married. Wife is killing me on this but I have to baby. I have to! Edit - Done - Just need to book my flight - I have a free one coming. She can't be pissed about this.
